List of Alicia Acevedo-Urcuyo's Reviews
Started seeing Her in 2010. I told her I had a history of eating disorder. When they would weigh me. I asked the girls not to tell me how much. And they would say. Why. I told them I had an eating disorder for 25 yrs. One time on the scale the girl said your weight is 113. I told her I didn’t want to know. I explained my situation. She said you are skinny you should get over it! Apparently they know nothing about mental health. I just go for my yearly visits. Every time she asks how I feel. I tell her I have all over body pain. In 2013 she sent me to get imaging. Which confirmed I had arthritis. So I changed my exercise to focus on that. I still hurt. I told her the next year. She said it’s because I’m getting old I was 37 at the time. In May I asked her for a referral so I could go to the pain center. She refused and told me they do nothing that she can’t do. She gave me RX. Took it once passed out. She is a socialized Dr. all she ever wants to do is give you vax. Vax cause autism
She may seem friendly. I don’t need a. Friend I need a Dr who will do something. I have been seeing her for 10 yrs. 2 times a year at most. 1 of the visits a physical. My past HX. DX with fibromyalgia in2006. TBI, fractured spine broken bones months in a 6 glass glow coma in 2010. I’m healthy weight fit. I told her when I first started seeing her I had constant pain. Sent me to have X-RAYS, MRI. She told me I had arthritis in both hips and lower spine. It was part of getting old I was in my 40’s at the time. The pain has become unbearable I can hardly function anymore. I asked her if she could refer me to a pain center. They understand my health problems and offer many options. Like physical therapy, acupuncture. They even accept my insurance with a Dr referral. I asked her if she would do this. She said no this was a zoom. I have it recorded. She said she could do everything that they do. Then she prescribed RX. I took it once passed out. I don’t trust her
Dr. Acevedo is the first Western Medicine doctor I've met that has a holistic approach and focus on prevention, not just treating the symptoms. This is common in Eastern Med/naturopath doctors, but they don't take insurance, so Dr. Acevedo is the best of both worlds. She doesn't just prescribe medication, she works with you to create a plan to get off of it when possible. I have recommended her to quite a few of my family and friends and they've all loved her as much as I do.
Staff is horrible about answering the phones, they have you waiting forever in the lobby and the doctor is even worse, she forgot that I was waiting in one of the rooms and when I went out to ask how much longer, staff told me that she forgot and that I needed to wait one more hour to see her or if I wanted to see the nurse instead. She don't care much about her patients, just the money. Very disappointed!
As a new patient Dr Alicia Acevedo and her staff made me feel comfortable. They treated me with professionalism and great attitudes. Great service highly recommend.
This is one of the worst doctor's I have ever encountered. She makes you wait over 45min and will only give you 5min of her time and that is speaking about her children not what you are there for. She is very loud in regards to making sure you have paid your co-pay before being seen and she never has immunizations for the children she states that they are costly and she will try to get some ordered. Don't waste your time at her office, your family would be better served somewhere else
Dr. Alicia Acevedo is smart, friendly, kind and knowledgeable . She is extremely through and answer all my questions. She is a very good physician and I would recommend her to anyone. The entire staff was friendly and professional. Highly recommend!
Staff is not greeting. You can tell they came for the check, not experience. The nurse has the best attitude there. It takes at least two weeks to see the doctor, no matter how important. $50 fee if you a minute late. I just had to fire her, her staff sucks, and she just does her job. What more can I ask for? At least a doctor who cares and not afraid to diagnose. I've had the same issue for years. Finally took advice from another doctor and now i'm better.
This is the worse doctor I have ever seen. The office staff is totally non-responsive and, at times, rude. They do no answer phones, you have to leave a message. Then wait. They only return a call about once in four messages. Often go without prescribed meds because they will not respond to pharmacy. Dr. Acevedo can be polite one visit and rude the next. After losin 33 pounds on a low fat diet, she told me I needed to become Vegan. She has been totally unresponsive. I have appointment cards that say one appointment, then they call a tell me it is a different date and charge me $50. They call to confirm my appointment, (which they never did before) at 8:50 in the morning, after I had me labs done the week before. Then at 3:30 they call and tell me she is dumping me because I have "missed 3 appointments in 5 years", which is debatable in the first place. Then I receive a letter telling me she is releasing me as a patient because I have too many things wrong with me. My opinion is that this lazy woman only wants easy well patients.
The worst bedside manners I have ever seen. Made me feel rushed and didn't really take time to answer/ease my concerns. Im really considering transferring to another doctor as am dreading going to my next appointment with her. Such a disappointment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
