Great Dr! She knows her stuff about RA, and many other things!
If you want pain management drugs then this is the dr to see. She is not concerned with you as a human being and if you ask questions you will be left with even more questions! I went in for a 2nd opinion feeling pretty good physically and mentally having been on a treatment course for 6 months. She told me my bloodwork looked good and i didnt have autoimmune defects so i no longer needed to take my meds. Best News EVER! NOT! 10 days later i was struck with extreme brain fog, pain, exhaustion, bruising-BEDRIDDEN scared to lose my job! I returned to her office - expecting her to help and she was uncaring, dismissive, and told me to go to pain management! When i told her that i was more concerned with the brain fog and i didnt want any MORE meds-i just wanted to continue taking the benlysta/plaquenill that i had been taking when before i made the mistake of scheduling an appt with her. She ended appt. 2 more weeks go by and i am circling the drain-scared! I call her office and they tell me she will return my call. 3 hours go by so i email using the website contact form. An angry person calls me in return telling me that the dr will prescribe me steroids. I decline and tell them i had been on steroids for weeks-no change! Then they tell me to begin plaquenill again and go back to my previous dr. They tell me that since i complained and didnt agree with the diagnosis-she was firing me and i could not see anyone from her practice. (Diagnosis? I dont care what this defect is called! I just want to get back to living again-normally!!) This Dr ruined my life-I am sick and hanging on by a thread- very frightened Im going to end up sick and on the streets cause I cant function to go to work!! I have made a full report to the AZ Medical Board-She has medically abandoned me in the midst of a crisis she started, She has caused mental anguish, unnecessary pain and suffering, and should not be allowed to practice. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. AVOID at ALL costs!!
They are kind, courteous and knowledgeable I don't mind the drive.
Dr Swarup listens and will partner with you to find your optimal treatment. I love her gentle understanding nature.
Following a visit Dr. Swarup escorted me into a empty room and shut the door. She said So WHO diagnosed you with X? A condition she wasn't treating. After specifically asking, HAVE you read my chart? She responded "Yes I have". Then you already know it was Dr.Z. She responded. You Are A LIAR. The only Dr.Z in this entire valley is my brother and he's a dermatologist. Ma'am, I asked you if you read my chart you responded yes. I have been totally forthcoming. My chart clearly shows DR.Z from NJ, Professional credentials, include Princeton University, Barrows Chicago. Diagnosed me. None of which applies to your line of expertise, nor do I know your brother, or would a dermatologist be qualified to diagnostically give an opinion a neurological issues. Dr. Swarup didn't relay her egregious, disrespectful and medical irresponsibility to the practice or her colleagues. Instead she made herself out as a victim. Dr's take oaths so we trust them.
All the reviews are true.. I didn't read them because I was in so much pain and distress that I was desperate and uneducated about rheumatogists in general and how inept the majority of them are. This doctor and her staff top the list and its astounding how incompetent they are.. you will waste precious time and energy and will be treated like trash.. don't stop keep searching.. only gave 1 star because I couldn't give 0.
Just a warning to everyone out there: As a new patient, If you switch appointment times or cancel (moving up appointment times counts as a cancellation) 3 times, even if it’s within the standard 24-hour time frame, they will not allow you to see any providers in their practice (I moved 2 of my appointment times well in advance of my scheduled date). Because of this policy, I’m essentially banned from Arizona Arthritis for life. This group of providers is only concerned about one thing: The almighty dollar $$$. I suppose a few key parts of the physician's Hippocratic oath don't apply to me, nor does the physician that made the decision to ban me, uphold these: I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure; May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.
very disappointed. Should have believed the reviews. first visit was fine, not good, just fine. I have autoimmune disease and needed a rheumatologist so I stuck around. It has been terrible experience. Finally switched and have a real doc. She is a fake. Lazy, heartless and careless. Should not be in-charge of taking care of human beings or rather any living being!
New in town. Have RA and other medical issues Saw her because there is such a shortage of Rheumatologists and you just can’t get in with any easily. Worst physician that I have ever seen. Very confident but not knowledgeable at all.One felt unsafe around her. Not going back .
I am very unhappy with this doctor. I have given it quite awhile to see if the care would get better. I just have the feeling that they are not caring. In the past if I've seen a doctor a year or two you develop some closeness. That's never happened!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
