I wish I could give Dr. Valverde zero stars. His medical error nearly killed my dad and left him needing an additional procedure to correct his error. This man should not be practicing medicine!

STAY AWAY from Dr. Valverde!!! At Mayo Clinic, this doctor improperly implanted a pacemaker, and while doing so he punctured my father’s lung. Making matters worse, two days after suffering from lung complications, Dr. Valverde informed my father that he may need the pacemaker removed and re-implanted because it wasn’t connected properly during the initial surgery. There is a 1% chance that either of these complications could occur, and they both did occur, at the hands of Dr. Valverde. Topping all of this, Dr. Valverde has a condescending bedside manner and described this situation as a “fender bender”, although his work has left my father with a large perforation in his lung, a pacemaker that will likely need to be removed and an undetermined amount of time in the hospital.

Looking for second opinion for complex problem. I had a detailed discussion of diagnosis and treatments available. Decided to go ahead with recommended procedure. Excellent results, couldn't be more satisfied.

Telling a patient to ignore their symptoms and that "ignorance is bliss" concerning the origin of their symptoms is not particularly reassuring or helpful. Especially when the symptoms cause the patient distress. Didn't explain anything at all. I want evidence not just a blanket statement as to why I shouldn't be concerned.Just because someone has an MD and worked at Mayo doesn't mean everyone should just accept their every word.

He was very disinterested in what I had to say, since by the time I got in to see him I felt much better, also my appt was at 12:00pm so he treated me like I was interrupting his lunch time, so he handed me his business card to dismiss me and left the room
