Update 1 year post op hip replacement:So thankful for the surgical expertise of Dr. Gough and careful supervision and follow up by Chris Bero. Back to doing all the things I enjoy, and grateful every day.
Dr. Gough has no other interest than $. I went to him after injuring myself playing golf. He convinced me I needed a knee replacement which I agreed to. What a mistake that was. Never saw him again but once & he said my issue was my hip. He's a crook & a hack. I showed 2 other Ortho Dr's my X-rays, and they asked WHY did he replace my knee? There was some arthritis but not enough to replace it. Scam artist is what he is.
Day 3 post op! 74 year old female who looks forward to getting back to her active life. Extremely grateful for the skill and surgical technique of Dr Gough and his effective surgical assistant and PA Chris Bero. I slept on my side last night, and am feeling rested and ready for the day. If you are considering total hip replacement look closely at Dr Gough's specialized technique for preserving muscles and tendons. It is a game changer!
Dr Gough is the best orthopedic surgeon in my books! I had both of my knees replaced about 3.5 months apart. I had full range of motion in both knees from day one and my scars are beautiful. Professional practice, wonderful staff. My FMLA and short term disability claims were effortless and we taken care of but his staff. If I had a third one I'd do it again.
As far as Dr. Gough's ability to perform hip replacement successfully, I rate him 5 stars. My left hip was replaced in May 2021. It's as good as it will ever get. The overall 3-star rating is based on the following: First, the only times I ever spoke with Dr. Gough was the initial appointment and just before surgery. All the other times was with Chris Bero. On one of the follow up visits he directly informed me that I will soon need replacement on my right hip but in a subsequent visit I was told that I had time. By August, the right hip was hurting badly and an MRI confirmed that I was a candidate for replacement. On Dec 2nd, I was told Dr. Gough no longer would take my insurance, forcing me to either pay him cash or find another surgeon. There was a 2 month wait on my first surgery, had they assessed me properly, I could have been through with my 2nd by years end. So now the debacle ... I decided on Dr. Kaplan, but then they said I had to schedule ANOTHER appointment with him first, which isn't until the Jan 17th. Meanwhile, there is NO direct line to the office. It's all routed through a 3rd party scheduling company. Pathetic communication at best.
This being my first knee surgery. I wasn't sure what to expect. They were very professional answered all my questions. I felt very relaxed and well taken care of. They have a very good staff. And I feel like I am in very good hands with Dr Gough.
Excellent experience! From the font desk, to the assistants to the physicians - Immediate attention, efficient and knowledgeable handling of complete visit. One of the few medical offices I would look forward to going back to - if it wasn't my goal to not need to see a physician.
Being an ex-athlete that has seen many Ortho surgeon s and having countless surgeries; you know your the 🐐 when you can rock full sleeve tattoos in north Scottsdale and not be the best lol! I’ve NEVER done 1 of these any other doc put his staff and Himself deserve it!! I appreciate y’all so much!
