I have had Dr. Matlin, do several surgeries for me and I could not be more pleased. He has my complete trust and confidence as I know that he is amazing and very skilled. There is no other doctor in Phoenix that I would trust more than Dr. Matlin. His office staff is just as wonderful and efficient as he is. I have referred him to a number of my friends and know that they will be in good hands if they go see Dr. Matlin,.

We can not say enough good things about Dr. Matlin! He was the only Dr. willing to take on our case - infected amputation. He truly save us! Dr. Matlin took on a very tough case and recovery. He did it with confidence, professionalism and honesty. He never sugar coated anything and gave us the confidence we need into order to heal. Truly, Dr. Matlin gave us our life back and we can not thank him enough!

Dr. Matlin took our case when noone else would. After an amputation gone bad, Dr. Matlin agreed to see us. He immediately put us at ease and assured us that he could help...and he did! He operated and fixed the problems that other doctors caused. Five months of pain, infection and stress have finally been put to test! Thank you Dr. Matlin for being willing Asbury & Fox!

If you have had problems with this Dr I highly recommend that you report him to the Medical Board. It is a long process but it is well worth it.

This "doctor" is the worst!!! He did a thyroidectomy on me. After the surgery I went back because I was having trouble breathing, he always said it was asthma acting up and that it would get better. I went back multiple times because of my breathing and he would always say the same thing. I ended up going to the hospital where there they told me that this doctor cut the nerves from my vocal cords leaving them paralysed. I had to get a tracheostomy along with other surgeries because he messed up so bad. I have no voice now thanks to him.

I am excited to write this review for Dr. Matlin and his amazing staff. When I was deciding if I would have Dr. Matin perform my recent survey – it was the reviews I read that helped me to decide that he was the perfect surgeon for me. I did not know Dr. Matlin, his reputation, or anything about his office. I knew he operated out of Abrazo Central and I did not have positive feelings about this hospital. Now, almost 1 month post-op – I feel there are not enough stars to rate Dr. Matlin, his staff, and Abrazo Central. I work in the medical field and am engaged in my care so I know how to research providers. I had a melanoma and the pathology report indicated it was the most aggressive type. Right from the start I was impressed! Maria answers the phone – you actually speak to a live person! She is wonderful and can competently direct you to whatever is needed. When I went into the office, Marissa called me into the exam room and explained she is Dr. Matlin’s assistant and she also assists him in surgery! Marissa is experienced, professional and caring. It was refreshing to know she was going to guide me every step of the way! I have called in several times since surgery and she always answers my questions or talks to Dr. Matlin and calls me back quickly. I have NEVER had an office that is so responsive as Dr. Matlin’s team! I was supposed to have the area around the melanoma removed and a sentinel lymph node removed and biopsied. I had a surgeon at Banner that I have used for several prior surgeries. It was next to impossible to try to reach anyone at Banner to see if he did this type of surgery. I was so frustrated and lost a full day trying to see if I should stay with Banner. I missed calling Luann (she schedules the surgery) back on the Friday of my initial visit to schedule for the next week. I called on Monday, knowing I probably could not get in that week for surgery, but praying I could. I don’t know what kind of magic Luann did – but I was scheduled for surgery 2 days later and the entire process was explained to me. Luann is amazing and can make the impossible happen! I went to Abrazo Central and felt I was with family! The tech that injected the radioactive substance has been doing his job for 30 years; the pre-op nurse (Jill) was the most caring I have had. My adult children were welcomed to be a part of my procedure and Dr. Matlin took the time to explain the procedure and answer their questions. It was obvious to me that Dr. Matlin is one of the busiest surgeons in this facility. I know why! He is an expert in his field and instructs residents that are wanting to learn from the best. It takes like 3 residents just to keep up with him. If you are looking for a surgeon – you do not need to look any further. If you trust Dr. Matlin with your situation, you will receive a surgeon w/ amazing expertise, a team that is solid and caring, phenomenal customer service that seems to be lost with most providers. I am a believer and will not even consider Banner or my former surgeon for any procedures that Dr. Matlin can do. I feel like family there. It is the only office where I know everyone in the office and they know me!

I was referred to Dr. Matlin for a malignant melanoma. I was able to make first appointment within 1 week of diagnosis. Surgery was scheduled for the following week. He does not waste time. He was clear and thorough in his explanation and options available. I knew just what to expect for procedures and likely outcome. Surgery went smoothly. Great support staff. After biopsy, one of the staff checked for results when they did not come on time. She called me Friday eve. at 5:45 on her personal time to give me the results - so I wouldn't have to wait through the weekend! Followup appointment was same quality as first. Great staff, great bedside manner.

After finding issues with my aorta which had neck, chest, and stomach. I was referred to Dr. Matlin for repairing my subclavian blockage. Years of being told that everything was fine and kept going to the cardiologist follow ups telling them that I was having heart pain, neck pain, dizziness, shortness of breath you name it. And the ultrasounds, stress test blah, blah, blah. It was the ER team who found sever blockage though out my aorta. Dr. Matlin literally saved my life!!!!! Although, there is still issues which need to be addressed I will not allow my cardiologist and his staff care for me. I have been through ..... and back with their deceptiveness, unprofessionalism, and unethical unprofessionalism. Dr. Matlin is one of the few surgeons whom does what it takes to take care of ALL that is in need of his talent. His staff, his surgical team go above and beyond the call of duty to provide the best medical care possible.
