I have been seeing Sonya Riske for about a year now and I’m so happy with her! I have not been as comfortable as I have been with her with any other psychiatrist. She really listens to me and I love how she lets me decide what I wanna do in regards to meds. Thx to her I am now on the proper meds that have helped improve my quality of life, I finally have enough energy to do stuff besides just laying in bed. I will and have recommended her to anybody in need of help! Thx Sonya for caring and listening to me! Never changing psychiatrist again.. She also makes me feel very excited about things, for example with my schooling and career she has been very supportive and encouraging, it’s nice to have someone rooting for you and wondering how school is going and making sure I take care of myself amidst all the stress.

I have been seeing Sonya Riske for a few months now and she has greatly improved the quality of my life. Her treatment approach is holistic and thoughtful, she took the time to assess me and my individual needs and provided me with many ways to change daily habits to improve my mental health. She also allowed me the option to take a medication but did not put any pressure on the idea. She is excellent at her job and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a thorough and thoughtful provider.

Sonya has been monumental in my journey to wellness. She has been my psychiatrist for almost two years. I have never had a provider who not only validated my mental health but listened to my concerns and adjusted my care plan accordingly, like her. She has truly set the bar for the level of care I expect in other physicians. I was so happy with her that I tracked her down from her last practice to resume my care because I just knew no one would take me as serious as her. She gives wonderful suggestions, she even connected me with my current therapist and countless other beneficial wellness programs. Sonya, if you’re reading this, I wouldn’t be as far in my journey without you and I appreciate you being a pillar in my success!

Grateful doesn’t even begin to explain how I feel about finding Sonya Riske as my psychiatrist. Let me start by saying I’ve never been lucky enough to come across a doctor that truly cares for my wellbeing, my success, and my mental health journey as much as Sonya does. Thanks to her care and expertise, after 10 years I’ve finally receive an accurate diagnosis and the right treatment for me, and the difference in my life has been extraordinary. Now I wake up looking forward to the day ahead. My relationships with my friends/family/myself are stronger. I’m excited for my future and what I can create. I have hope in myself and my life!! I never thought I’d feel this way again, and all of this was possible because of Sonya. If you’re needing help or guidance on your mental health journey, I cannot recommend Sonya enough. I have been seeing Sonya Riske for nearly a year, and can surely say she is an amazing provider. She is the first prescriber I’ve met who has made it feel safe to communicate openly and ask questions. I can truly trust her and have recommended Sonya to my friends and family! She has made me feel heard, seen, and validated. I have not once felt judged or embarrassed during our interactions and respect her patient care immensely. Not only does she make a safe space for patients during appointment times, but her accessibility and response time outside of scheduled visits is something I have never experienced before. She will get back to you directly within a few hours max! I feel confident under her care that I can receive my medications when I need them. Knowing my provider is there for me at all times is a privilege I never knew I could have in my medical care. She will follow up with you as well and contact you before your next scheduled appointment as a reminder and verification of the meeting time. Sonya is kind, responsive, and cares for people holistically. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and effective prescriber. She has been the best I’ve had and I’m grateful for her support!

I have been seeing Sonya Riske for almost a year now and I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support and care she has provided me. From our very first session, she created a welcoming and nonjudgmental space where I felt heard and understood completely, for the first time in my life. Immediately, you can tell she truly cares about her patients and wants them to succeed. Her approach is compassionate, professional, while also feeling tailored to my individual needs. I feel I have made significant progress with her expert guidance these past months and she has equipped me with tools to better manage my mental health not just for present time, but ultimately long term. In the past I have experienced difficulty with communication to other doctors. Whether that be for medication refills or even follow up appointments. This is NOT the case with Sonya at Desert Foothills. Since day 1, she has responded to anything I have messaged her with, within the HOUR. She genuinely has never let me down by not responding or made me feel like a bother. SHE JUST SIMPLY CARES. She feels like a warm hug every time I talk to her. To anyone seeking help, I HIGHLY recommend seeing Sonya. She is literally a walking angel, and I will never see anyone else. I am forever grateful for this wonderful human being and the impact she has made on my life. IN SONYA WE TRUST!!

I am always raving about Sonya and am beyond grateful to have found her! I found her through Zocdoc when I first moved here about 9 months ago and have since referred many friends to her who have felt just the same way! Sonya brings that warm, familial feeling that I feel is harder and harder to find. What I really appreciate is that she is always super present in our visits and takes her time. It's clear that she genuinely cares. On top of that, she is super informed and up-to-date in the field, but doesn't ever pretend to know about things that she doesn't. She is also the most responsive provider I have ever had! You can just send her a text and she gets back within a couple of hours. She even texts the day before to remind you of your appointment - (not the standard, automatic reminder text - it's her!) I really trust Sonya - she has provided me tremendous comfort and I could not recommend her more!

I seen Sonya Riske a few times, I told her that I was looking for a prescriber because I was pretty stable in my meds. I was told by her that she would schedule appointments every 2 months but I would have to do the first 2 visits a month apart just to make sure everything is good with the medication. I was ok with that, after the second month she scheduled my appointment for 2 months out and told me to text her when it was time for a refill. When it was time to refill I sent a text, she couldn't find my name in the system due to her mistake, she was using the name she seen on my email, not the name i used when I filled out forms, I figured it was a simple mistake, but then she asked me to move my appointmenr earlier so she could get these things fixed....so I had to literally pay for her mistake. I went along with it and rescheduled, on the day of my appointment she said she will be signed on at 1, my appointment was 1:30 (She seems kind of unorganized, which is bad if I notice it because my organization is not the greatest.) At the end of the appointment she scheduled me for another appointment 2 months out, and I got my prescription. I was late on calling for meds on my refill, I ended up skipping some days just to keep from building up a tolerance so I used up what I had. When I sent a text she asked if I could bump up my appointment again.....this time I questioned her about appointments being every 2 months, she agreed that it was every 2 months, so I asked her why don't I get 2 refills? This is her text "Unfortunately a few patients that are cash pay like yourself are asking for refills and then cancelling appts. I’m changing my policy and doing two month appt at refill time. Adderall is the highest controlled substance besides street drugs. There’s a lot of responsibility with prescribing on my part. If this doesn’t work for you I totally understand." She literally said 2 months but wanted me to move my appointment from the 2 month mark. If she was so worried about me canceling she could have prescribed enough to last until my next appointment. It seems to be a habit of hers to move the appointments, this is already expensive as it is, and making people pay for unnecessary visits is not making it any better. It's pretty messed up messing with people with mental health issues so you can make more money. If you wanted monthly you should have said that so i could find something different.
