I think Valleywise is really an underrated hospital. I went into the ER during COVID and was seen within 5min (not via ambulance or for COVID). They triage in order of severity and the waiting room was packed, but they managed to get me into cardiology immediately. I never even sat down. They had me in and out in under 3 hours total! They also gave me lots of treatment options and a wonderful healthcare team. It is a teaching hospital, so there are a lot of resident doctors. That often means that being right out of school they are more aware of new treatments and procedures. Sometimes even willing to treat more aggressively than older doctors are. I definitely appreciate everything they did for me!
This has got to be the WORST medical facility I've ever been a patient at. My labs or orders are always incorrect or missing. The grounds and parking are disgusting and dangerous. No security around making sure cars aren't whipping through those tiny parking lanes going 45 mph...just walk slow so you aren't hit. All of my appointments have been 19+ minutes late, even when I check in 20 min prior to my scheduled appt. The waiting rooms are dirty, filled with loud and obnoxious patients who clearly have zero respect for other people (it's what you get with county!) and these people aren't informed to be quiet or to watch their kids. It feels like absolute chaos every time I've been and I will NEVER go back again after yesterday. I show up 20 min early, checked in online, did everything the patient is supposed to do. At 10:10 (appt was at 10), I asked the receptionist to kindly tell me how much longer I'll be waiting. She went back to the MA and informed me that it would be another 15-20 min. Valleywise, are you serious?? You have the patient do EVERYTHING online and schedule these appointments 3-5 weeks in advance and you can't hire more professional physicians that can actually complete appointments on time?? This place is awful. Steer clear, it's not worth your time and energy.
From the moment I came there i was being discriminated against because I hold a marijuana card and excersize my right to use it. They made me jump through so many different hoops all for nothing! It amazes me a healthcare institution that boasts on having a diverse healthcare staff treats patients and potential applicants with disabilities with such disdain and disgust. it seems instead of progressing with the rest of the world, Valleywise insists on staying 60+ years behind the current research promoting reefer madness just to keep they're patients and employees down. What else do they discriminate against? seems they have another agenda
For the love of god don't come here. Experimenting while I'm in labor? That's the type of "doctors" who are actually students in training this place has? I was promised a lot of things that did not get followed through on, but especially a doctor that would see me through the rest of this pregnancy and help deliver since I am now 31 weeks. I was told my birth plan was "unnecessary and crazy" as they will do "whatever they see fit". then what's the point of having an opinion?? May as well just knock me out, cut me open, and take my baby away if you're going to ignore every. single. thing I say. And let's hope I don't die. As little as only 200 births? The average is 500-5,000 and the nurse copped an attitude and asked why that number wasn't high enough for me. I've done over 200 loans but does that make me an expert? NO. Bc each loan just as each person is different. Not only have I been pressured into vaccines that I knew would make me sick, which landed me in the hospital (do you want to pay my 500$ + bill Bc you were negligent and pressuring me?) Bc I got sick big surprise , but now this bomb shell was almost snuck by me as well. They do not listen, they do not care, they only care if ur at a "healthy" weight otherwise all your appts will revolve around what you are eating Not you or your baby or concerns. (Btw I lost 85 lbs pre-pregnancy and have only gained about 25 back) NOW they want to set up an appointment with a MALE dr with no consult, concern, or questions on IF I would even be comfortable having a mans hands all up inside me as if sexual assaults don't and haven't happened. Total bs here. Do not, please do not bring you or your pregnant spouse here ever! This is a nightmare but thankfully I already found an actual Doctor right away who WILL listen, who WONT treat me as an experiment but as a human being who has an opinion on her own body, and who WILL honor my birth plan. All it took was one phone call to confirm. The nurse who mentioned that my birth plan was unnecessary couldn't even get a clear reading on my baby's heart beat, she tried guessing and was wrong by 25 BPM Bc "she had coffee that's why I'm shaking so bad" and you expect me to be ok with shakey hand Karen delivering my baby? Ha! Good one. I wish I would have listened to the reviews...Edit: called and asked for a transfer letter so that I am able to get a good DOCTOR and boy did they cop an attitude. Showing your true colors here. Not only have they lied to me multiple times about sending over my records, but now they are saying they will not do it since I didn't have a referral which I DID and was promised that my records would be sent that same day. It is now almost a week later, and they have yet to send over any information.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
