James Frank's Online Review Report Card

It's been years since I've seen Dr. Frank. He originally diagnosed me with CSR- Central Serous Retinopathy in one eye. He told me nothing could be done. But to come back after a year for him to check on it. A year passed, the condition worsened but I could still see. When I got into his office, I recall he was extremely rude and actually asked me why I had came back, that he had told me he couldn't do anything for me. I left there utterly humiliated and embarrassed. A few months later the condition worsened and I was blind in one eye at 45 years old. I sought a second opinion, which was similar to Dr. Franks initially. But the Dr. listened to me, coordinated with my family doctor to address blood pressure spikes. Together they treated the BP spikes with a water pill, which in turn removed the water from my retina. I have been CSR free now for several years. I have some minor scarring that impacts my vision, but I can see. Dr. Franks failed me miserably, where another succeeded.

Dr James Frank takes time with each patient. The office is always a flurry of activity, but each test and procedure is done separately, so most waiting occurs in the large central waiting area. You are not left in the exam room any longer than it takes for dilating or numbing drops to take effect. Once you get used to the orchestration, the visits are very personable and all your questions are answered. Highly recommend.

Absolutely! All staff were masked, were at close distance for only a short period of time and efficient. Wait time was the usual, but I always plan on 2 hours at least. Waiting room chairs were positioned for physical distancing. Dr Frank focuses on me when I am being examined, thoroughly explains results and answers any questions in plain language. He has been so knowledgeable, kind and helpful that I drove the 18 miles when the group moved to present location from Piedmont Hospital on Peachtree many years ago.
