Dr. Chow is, no doubt, the best orthopedic surgeon for hip replacements. His technique, Super Path, will allow you to resume normal activities in 3 months and best of all, there are no restrictions such as bending over, squatting, etc. I am 75 years old and 4 months from surgery. I'm now able to hike 6 miles and ride my bicycle more than 20 miles. Dr. Chow is now a "private pay" surgeon and I would strongly advise you consider him as your doctor if you can afford it. Worth the excellent experience and outcome.
I traveled from Chicago to have Dr. Chow replace my left hip, and any accolade attributed to him would be an understatement; he is simply the best orthopedic surgeon and, equally, an exceptional person. Years ago, my right hip was replaced by another surgeon via SuperPATH, as I didn’t have the luxury of waiting for Dr. Chow whose services are in such demand.Due to COVID (& hesitancy to travel), I met with reputable surgeons in Chicago regarding my left hip. However, Dr. Chow’s approach, perspective, and technical knowledge/expertise exceeded those of the surgeons with whom I consulted. As an example, there was one technical issue that the surgeons in Chicago could not resolve. When I raised the issue with Dr. Chow during a virtual visit he stated that it was ‘no problem’.Prior to returning to the hotel the same day of surgery, Dr. Chow told me that everything came out ‘perfect’. He was referring to the resolution of the technical issue mentioned above, and that all metrics, from leg length equality, offset, cup placement, stability were perfect. I used Extra Strength Tylenol for 4 days, though I wonder if I even needed that.I am slightly over 2 weeks post surgery, and am ecstatic with the results. In addition to Dr. Chow performing a truly ‘perfect’ surgery, his personality, and the respect and admiration from everyone in his office and hospital (x-ray staff, pre- and post-op staff, and staff on the orthopedic floor) are unsurpassed.Though it may take awhile before you can consult with Dr. Chow, and even longer before you’re lucky enough to have him perform the surgery, the wait is WELL WORTH IT! If I’m ever in need of orthopedic surgery again, I will undoubtedly travel for his services, and wait for however long is required to have him perform his magic.Thank you Dr. Chow . . . Google doesn't provide enough stars to give you the rating so deserved
Excellent work!! Another quality hip by James Chow. Easy recovery so far.
He was engaging and so knowledgeable! Helped me through my concerns about hip surgery recovery - which is going well. Excellent surgeon.
Dr. Chow is a fantastic surgeon! I have had many surgeries and never have I ever had a surgeon explain the surgical procedure in such detail, explained thoroughly what to expect after the surgery, and checked on me to make sure I was healing properly and not having any issues. Never have I had a Dr. that was so conscientious and caring. I couldn’t recommend anyone higher than Dr. Chow. And, BTW I had hip replacement surgery, and today exactly 3 months later I feel fantastic! Thank You Dr. Chow!
I had a knee replacement done over 10 years ago with Dr. Cho I originally went for the partial knee replacement and then decided to do the total I was young 50 years old so figured I’d have a good outcome however I did not I now have and have had since continuous pain as bad as prior to the surgery my diagnosis was osteoarthritis of the knee my surgery had to be redone by Dr. Cho and still continuous pain. After two knee surgeries on the same knee I consulted with other orthopedic surgeons who told me they need to redo the knee replacement it was such a horrendous recovery that I cannot fathom the idea of going through that again. I don’t understand how with a young knee that’s had no prior surgery to it I could have such a bad outcome if only I could turn back the clock I would’ve never had this procedure. One of the worst decisions in my life I hear he is very good with hip replacement maybe that is more his specialty. 12 years later and I am still living in continuous pain that affects the quality of my life please think twice before doing a knee replacement I am a nurse and thought I knew how to make an educated decision on the right surgeon to use apparently I did not
This is the second knee replacement Dr Chow has done on me. No, no mistakes. He did the left leg in October of 2018. Two years later the right knee had to be replaced. Praying this is the last body part that has to replaced! If I do and it's in the hip or knee. This good man will be doing it. This world would be a lot better place if we had more surgeons like him!I would definitely recommend him to anyone that needs a knee or hip replacement!
I can’t wait to have Dr. Chow replace my hip! He addressed all of my concerns, & will talk to you on whatever level desired (technical or non-medical). He was able to address an issue that only one other surgeon was capable of talking about & resolving due to his technique, experience, & knowledge. I’ll be traveling from Chicago to have him perform the surgery...looking forward to Phoenix in November!
Dr. Chow is a great surgeon and genuinely cares about his patients.
My experience with Dr Jimmy Chow was truly outstanding. He was very personable and welcoming. He took his time answering my questions. I struggle with anxiety and was very apprehensive about hip replacement. I am totally at ease with Dr Chow and know I will receive excellent care.Juliann Mahoney
