On Nov 27, 2021 I fell at home and broke my left hip. Dr. Vanderhoof operated on me at HONOR HEALTH Shea on November 28, 2021 and gave me a partial hip replacement. I do not recall seeing him in the hospital after that. I was grateful at that time that he fit me into his busy schedule. I had 2 visits to his office following my surgery. The first was for xrays - the second was to have my staples removed. His instructions to me were "Don't ever fall again". He was in the examining room less than 90 seconds. Now, today is January 27, 2022. My hip has not healed yet and on February 3, 2022, I will have my partial hip replaced by a fully lined hip replacement by a different doctor. Imagine my shock when I heard I needed more surgery!! I am 78 years old - yipes!! Two anesthesias in two months and lots more healing pain. THE END
If I could leave zero stars I would. I went to see Dr. Vanderhoof recently for symptoms of carpal tunnel. He basically said to me that my symptoms could be caused by MS or a slew of other horrible diseases. My jaw literally dropped. It was like he researched all the things that could cause muscle pain and strain on the web and came in and said it could be all the worst possible outcomes before eliminating the most logical common thing. He said this only after squeezing my wrist for a few moments. I asked if there was a way to test for carpal tunnel other than him squeezing my wrist and he dissuaded me from getting the test saying that it was extremely painful and that it was a test I would never forget. After all of that he said PT might help and gave me a referral. I left bewildered and now I have to research a new Doctor who will test for carpal tunnel and the basics first.
Would not recommend. Office not set up for orthopedic patients, had to ask for everything, front office not helpful.
He was super simple to work with and very helpful
I had a great experience with the professional office staff and Dr. Vanderhoof was excellent with my mom as she was struggling with Mobility issues.
Dr. Vanderhoof is an amazing physician!! Unlike other physicians, Dr. Vanderhoof knows how to translate complex medical jargon to the common tongue. He is incredibly intelligent, very easy to talk to, and his office staff are extremely accommodating.
Dr. Vanderhoof is very attentive and does an exceptional job in explaining and treating my hand problems. I have full confidence in his ability to care for me. Highly recommended to all to have him as your orthopedic surgeon!
Dr Vanderhoof is very knowledgeable, and you can trust his expertise. He helped me get my wrist back to full functionality after a basketball injury.
Worst services ever. I fell down a flight of stairs and was injured. I went to see Dr. Vanderhoof and he basically told me nothing was wrong and I should take Tylenol. Months after the visit I was still in excruciating pain. I went to another doctor for a second opinion where I was informed the femoral head on my right side was crushed and partially crushed on my left side. I ended up needing both hips replaced. I received a bill for $50. I called and spoke with the officer manager who said they would waive it. I just received a collection notice against my credit report! I seriously can't believe after such horrible service and the lack of him giving a proper diagnosis they would put me in collections over $50. I will be taking this to the medical board.
I went to see Dr. Vanderhoof and all he did was touch my knee and say; "Does this hurt?" He did it on 4 different spots and my knee is swollen and the nerves hurt when he would touch it. He the n just has Dan put a knee brace on and tells me to join a gym to get on a mobile bicycle to get my knee??? Instead of sending me to therapy for my knee he wants me to pay money for a gym....no wonder I never went back to him in 2018... no return visit only if knee isn't better. Never will recommend this guy...
Dr. Vanderhoof is apparently very well liked and the wait was longer than expected. However it was well worth the wait. He was very attentive and took great care to make me feel at ease with the procedure.

I had to have trigger finger surgery on 2 fingers on one hand along with a cyst on same finger. All visits were VERY rushed, almost like i was wasting his time. He has NO bed side manner and is very short and direct. After surgery, had my 2 week follow up after the surgery to have stitches removed, he never came in and his assistant removed them. He walked in at last second and said, "ok good she got them, make sure to bend your fingers" and left. I was like "um I have a few other questions for you". To which his assist had to go get the answers for me. I stretched them as instructed. 3 weeks go by and I am still having lots of pain in my finger with cyst. Other finger feels almost 100%. I call as something wrong and pain is strong and I am told on phone that it would be 3 weeks out (as he is only there 1 day a week). I finally get in. I wait 1 hour and he sees me for 30 secs LITERALLY, and tells me to "deal with it". never TOUCHES my hand to inspect, just says "get Phys Ther". Rude!
Dr. Vanderhoof is a skilled and resourceful doctor who puts his patient’s needs first. After breaking my left ankle and left leg fibula bone and being told by a different doctor that I needed surgery right away, I went to Dr. Vanderhoof for a second opinion. Dr. Vanderhoof advised me not to get surgery, and instead he carefully monitored my healing every step of the way (literally!) My ankle and leg healed beautifully without surgery. I am so grateful there are still doctors in the world like Dr. Vanderhoof who are willing to work with patients to heal, rather than jumping at the chance to do surgery. Dr. Vanderhoof is known for his expertise and exceptional care of his patients. Now I know why - his advice is based on the best outcome for his patients, which makes all the difference.
Took my mom is and they were very honest with her injuries and the best approach. Thank you Dr. Vanderhoof!!
Dr. Vanderhoof does not specialize in any complex high-risk patients he refused to see me at Thompson Peak after refusing to take my case for knee Replacements in the past his unprofessionalism in that again even giving me a surgical consultation while being in the emergency room is unexcusable. His pompous and condescending and I would definitely not recommend go somewhere else you're wasting money
He is very knowledgeable and great with kids. We got in fast and easy. My daughter and I had a great experience.
Very poor surgery he performed which resulted in non-union all because he didn't stabilize the injury adequately. I had to have it all re-operated on to get it fixed by a real professional. His communication and follow ups are very unprofessional. Even the weird little x-ray tech they have is very odd, he stares creepily and flirts with every woman, and I was told by a more reputable/ professional x-ray tech, that the xrays he took we very poor and positioned incorrectly.

Worst experience with a medical office. Got nothing right, Delayed, postponed, and eventually totally forgot my surgery. Wouldn't return my calls, they knew nothing when I called in and "Ignacio" never returned my calls. They did schedule the procedure once, at the wrong location and the wrong date. They then called to cancel a procedure for a Thursday and rescheduled for a Monday. Problem was, there was nothing scheduled for the Thursday in question and I never heard from them again.
