Louis A. Lanza's Online Review Report Card

On 11/18/2020, I was experiencing chest pain and went to Mayo Hospital, which I had the pleasure to meet Dr. Lanza and his team. Dr. Lanza told me I needed a coronary bypass. As he was explaining my situation and answering all my questions, I was thinking to myself how much I appreciated his honesty. He is a straight shooter, and that goes a long way with me. It's been three months since my surgery, and I'm feeling great.

This man is a Miracle worker in my opinion... in 2007 my dad was dying from congestive heart failure... we went to seven different surgeons for help and all of them refuse to help because of my dads’ age... finally we arrived at the Mayo Clinic our last chance and this wonderful man gave my dad a additional 9 years of life which Our family has been eternally grateful for... Amazing doctor!

17 years ago I came to Dr Lanza as a second opinion for lung cancer surgery. My oncologist in Las Vegas told me to look for thoracic surgeons when the chemo ended. I interviewed surgeons in Las Vegas and was not satisfied. My first visit with Dr Lanza sold me in 5 minutes. His knowledge and confidence was exceptional. His excitement when finding out that lymph nodes he sent to pathology were clean of cancer endeared him to me.

I must admit this review is coming from care Dr. Lanza gave my mother 20 years ago. She was DX with Lung Cancer. The Pulmonologist who officially gave her the bad news was very worried about the location of the tumor in relation to a main artery. He did refer the name of Dr. Lanza but my mom insisted on getting multiple opinions. She saw a 2nd Pulmonary specialist who also said Dr. Lanza was the best for this type of surgery. I was at the appointment and I even asked the doctor if his mother had lung cancer would he refer her to Dr. Lanza? His Quick and very precise reply "absolutely!". Both of these doctors were and are highly respected in there field. I was at every appointment and was able to meet Dr. Lanza along with his team at the time PA Perry and PA Michelle. Everyone was amazing, perfect bedside manner, answered every question and supplied very detailed expectations. Dr. Lanza with his talented team and the support of Mayo my mother was able to be surgically cured from lung cancer. Which to this day we are both thankful and grateful for all there care. I am happy to say my mother has been cancer free for 20 years and that is the best gift any son could ever get. Dr. Lanza deals with very difficult cases and I know if you are under his care you are getting the best chance of success. Thank you Dr. Lanza and Mayo Clinic.

Great guy! Knows what he's doing!

On 10/22/1999, Dr. Lanza removed and replaced more than 13 inches of my severely dissected aorta. Since then I have continued to live an active life with little or no restrictions. Including the continuation of training and showing my Arabian and Half-Arabian Show Horses, and to be able to share my passion with my Grand Children (attached photo). It was through your skills, compassion, and dedication that not only saved my life, but allowed me to enjoy it fully during the last 18 years. Here's to you and another 18 years of more of the same.

Dear Dr, Lanza - it is 4 years ago today that you saved my mothers life. She was against all odds every other place told us so - she could literally die at any moment with her severe aortic stenosis. I am so grateful to have her hear on this earth for 4 more years thus far - your expertise, and strong encouragement, and every time she was unsure about the surgery, you met with her took the time each time (which was frequent in her case) was more than expected. Thank you for saving her life!

Excellent Dr. I will never forget you Dr. Lanza! My heart is beating in rhythm and the valve is ticking away! Thank you! Surgery was October 19th and I am good as new! Cardiac rehab is going well!
