I love the place! Great Care@
My dear daughter died at Mayo Phoenix. I still cry each day. I just finished a podcast featuring Dr. Mrinal Patnaik, what a kind and caring doctor. I wish I saw one like that at Mayo Phoenix. I saw the whole bunch of hematologists at Mayo Phoenix, and I saw nobody as earnest and compassionate as Dr. Patnaik, who practices at Mayo Rochester. It hurts so much that we did not receive great care. Such a young and good person was not given a full deck of cards by her main hematologist, who hardly knew what was going on. There was very little dignity given to our daughter and our family and that is terrible. We all deserve to be treated the best, and if not available to be referred promptly to the best care. Shame!
Cafeteria food just ok prices good, people serving nice. Skip the burgers and fries get a wrap
A year ago yesterday our lovely daughter died at this terrible facility. I have worked in hospitals for 30 years-I do not know how they rate this place well. So much of the reviews we hear in the media are hyped up and fabricated. The night our daughter took a bad turn they never even called us to come to the hospital, at Mayo Phoenix. They waited until she was already pretty much dead to have us come. I do not know what happened there and I question so much of the care. The doctors were not excellent at all, many with subpar credentials. They did not even consult with an infection control doctor for our daughter when she developed a bad infection. I am so sad about the poor care and quite horrible atmosphere at Mayo Phoenix.
I tried to make an appointment with the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale. The first time I called, they stated I needed to send them more information. They called me back and said they cannot see me as the Hematology department was "overwhelmed." I then received another call from them stating if my GP would send my files to them, they would see me. My GP did that, and I received a call stating there was not enough evidence in the file to see me and I WAS REJECTED ONCE AGAIN!! They stated I would need more advanced blood work or a BONE MARROW BIOPSY in order to be seen. The reason I wanted to see them in the first place was My GP wanted me to get more advanced blood work for a DIAGNOSIS. No one in their right mind would have a BONE MARROW BIOPSY before having preliminary blood work done. I am a Health Psychologist and find how the Mayo does business as being abominable and not in anyway conducive to good patient care.
Why do you not have an email to contact you as I have a Sleep Study question and I've called & have been hung up on & sent to the wrong department. Being put on hold is POOR.
My mom is here getting knee surgery, and the hospital, staff, and everything overall has been a fantastic experience. Having worked in the healthcare field for many years and in hospitals, this has been a great eye opener since Covid. Since customer service, empathy, and overall experience everywhere else seems non-existent, it definitely made me feel hopeful again in the healthcare system. The staff has been absolutely wonderful, the hospital is very well maintained and clean, and I am just beyond impressed! Thank you, Mayo Clinic!
Inpatient- Mayo has been a GREAT hospital with caring nurses, doctors, and a whole “team” to help my mom while she was admitted Outpatient- as soon as we were discharged, Mayo became IMPOSSIBLE to contact. The “team” that was “here alongside us on this journey” is unreachable by phone & portal. We are happy to have my mom home but wish there was a little more support for her after her 4-week stay in Mayo. Getting ahold of a doctor or nurse is near impossible and even getting access to her CT scans is like trying to move a mountain (now that we are outpatient)

Although the quality of care was excellent, it seems like Mayo became more about the money than about their patients was going to Mayo for 13 years and then found out. They didn't want to see me anymore because they didn't accept my insurance. Pretty sad when you're established patient and you just get to us to the side.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
