List of Mayo Clinic's Reviews
Do not use this hospital. They consider themselves part of the woke culture. Whatever that is???? Mother Alfred Moes O.S.F. must be turning over in her grave.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT dr. thomas e. kelly lower case on purpose He didnt even listen to my concerns before dismissing me. He refused to hear my concerns about my SEVERE ringing in my ears no pain at all just ringing really bad and assumed I was ok by simply looking at my very normal blood pressure he didnt know I was a nurse at this point. The last time this happened I was hospitalized due to my labs being very critical amp this was explained to him. He didnt want to draw labs or evaluate me and told me I dont have an emergency according to his checklist. How could he know if he didnt even hear my issues with my chronic medical condition???? He told me in a loud rude tone This is the Emergency Department not your primary care office You need to get a primary care doctor theyre plenty of them around here. I cant help you here. I just moved here a few weeks ago and had not found a good match for Primary care doctor yet amp it would take weeks to get into a new provider and this was explained to him already. I also spoke with my doctor via the on call line from back home and she advised me to go to the Emergency Department here in Arizona. I offered to show dr. kelly all my electronic medical records of my past hospitalization for this same issue and previous critical labs the last time my ears were ringing this badly but he didnt want to see it. He kept cutting me off in conversation amp WOULD NOT LISTEN. This is my first time in an ED in over a year with my chronic thyroid condition amp recently had a synthroid medication dose change after a 664 TSH level take meds every day on time. Ive been a Registered Nurse for 20 years and IVE NEVER HAD SUCH A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE or even worked with a doctor who treated patients like this or talked so loudly and rudely to. Only after I made a complaint to the charge nurse did he say Well if you want me to evaluate you and draw labs then Ill do it if it makes you happy in such a snarky voice. At this point I didnt trust him or want to deal with him at all so they asked me to sign a leaving AMA against medical advice form because I refused his reluctant service. Luckily for me I was recording the whole conversation to review later to make sure I didnt miss anything like specific instructions etc. Plus Im so sleepy from not sleeping in 2 days due to the ringing so I didnt want to miss anything but to my surprise I captured this jerk of a practitioner talk to me like crap. Patient complaint officially submitted to hospital. To any doctors reading this LISTEN TO YOUR FREAKING PATIENTS I promise itll just make you a better provider. This is not the end of this. Im beyond frustrated and tired of doctors NOT listening to their patients.... I feel so awful humiliated and hopeless after this experience. This should not even be a thing.
If you have breast cancer going to the Mayo breast clinic is like eating a $hit sandwich. This group of medical professionals is completely devoid of compassion empathy and human connection. After Dr. Mahabir disappeared he now has a private practice in Tucson my case slipped through the cracks and landed in the incompetent lap of Dr. Rebecca and her millennial PAs Sara Struve and Lindsay Bryant. My breast reconstruction experience with this lot of loser clowns was an utter nightmare and I was left feeling botched and disfigured beyond repair. I was warned by a wellknown breast surgeon in the valley to avoid going to Mayo Breast Clinic and she was absolutely right. Sadly I did not listen. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this chop shop. Consider going to the Restorative Brest Center in NOLA.
I am very impressed with the level of service and follow up received from the staff at Mayo. They were always helpful courteous and professional throughout my care from the Emergenct Department to Cardiology Cath Lab and nurses on the floor. I can’t say enough about these folks. They exceeded my expectations on every count.
Whoever Ms. Fancy heels is... Needs to really get a life ? Seriously complaining to staff about construction workers... Asking them to tattle tale if they see these hard working guys parking closer??There are zero designated parking spots for them to park so they have to park in the dirt... Far away from where they are working and haul off Thier stuff??? To work on a building that is at Mayo....???? Seriously. Doesnt this world have enough junk in it? Does it need another person being rude to those that are working for you??? Mayo should be ashamed to have someone representing them.... Such as ms fancy heels.
How many doctors does it take to treat a chronic sinus condition? 7 or more. At least when youre dealing with Mayo Clinic. The lead in is actually not quite accurate but its catchy. Mayo Clinic has not actually helped me resolve my chronic sinus condition so after 6 of their doctors and a high level radiologist bounced me back and forth between their departments and because they disagree Im left with no treatment or resolution at all. Neither department will treat me and theyve referred me to the other in an infinite loop of bureaucracy. Im back going to overthecounter solutions which have actually helped me somewhat more than Mayo until I solve it myself.Ultimately I find Mayo to be a closed loop that refuses to have contact with the outside world. If you come in reporting pain and other symptoms like sickening postnasal drip and even blood in my sinuses like Ive had but your situation doesnt conform to their strict guidelines of care youre not treated. Period.Other lunacies at Mayo They refused to look at my MRIs that were taken outside their closed loop. SimonMed is one of the largest imaging providers in the area but Mayo refused to look at my MRIs that I brought in. The result? I had to get two expensive CT scans at Mayo how convenient for them... Im sure their board of directors are laughing all the way to the bank. Mayo didnt seem to care that they were exposing me to needless radiation because of their bureaucratic refusal to accept outside imaging. When I told the doctor about some of the overthecounter and alternative remedies that helped me that actually alleviated my symptoms for a significant amount of time he actually chuckled and I knew he and his colleagues who were listening in on the video call were probably making fun of the things Id tried. The irony is that some of them actually worked but the doctors at Mayo dont want to hear about it to help them act like Sherlock Holmes and actually use that info to narrow down what might be going on in my sinuses. Instead they completely discounted my patient experience and reports.Im sure Mayo is probably great when it comes to basic straightfoward things like a broken bone or heart disease. But when it comes to anything that requires deeper examination and critical thinking... well its not quite their strong point. If it doesnt fit within their tight little paradigm good luck getting treated.Anyway Ive ultimately wasted about 6 months there and have been bounced between several departments and my sinus situation that originated with exposure to a moldy condo is still not resolved. The only relief I get from some of the home remedies Ive tried elicited chuckles from them. Im left to my own devices as it seems Mayo Clinic doesnt have the expertise to get to the bottom of a chronic sinus issue that began with exposure to a moldy environment. How many doctors does it take to resolve a sinus infection at Mayo? They cant do it. So much for state of the art medical care.
I had been diagnosed with a shoulder that needed to have a total replacement. Once you get to be over 45 or 50 you start to think twice about getting joints totally replaced with metal contraptions or at least thats what I thought. I had multiple tears in muscles around my shoulder including a number in my rotator cuff. I also had different bone growths that were causing pain. My orthopedic surgeon Dr. Hattrup told me I had to get it totally replaced. I couldnt just do surgery to make individual repairs. A couple of years earlier I had a surgeon at another hospital tell me I could get by with just some minor surgery on my shoulder. I now dont believe he was correct.Instead of listening to Dr. Hattrup I thought I could do exercises or have therapy treatments that would improve the condition of my shoulder and greatly reduce the pain. After more than 2 months of believing this I finally concluded Dr. Hattrup was correct. I opted for the total shoulder replacement. I had the total shoulder replacement procedure done in the opening months of 2021. Yes it was quite painful for an extended period of time. Yep I couldnt use my arm for quite a while such as even putting a belt on my pants or putting a shirt on. But after four months of therapy my arm was in great shape The followup with Dr. Hattrup and his staff was exceptional. Even though I was defensive in getting the procedure done Dr. Hattrup convinced me I had to do it. I wish I would have listened to him sooner but I am grateful for his persistence in convincing me to get the shoulder replacement done. The staff at Mayo Hospital did a wonderful job the day of my surgery in making me feel comfortable and taking care of me. I was very impressed and would recommend checking into surgical procedures at Mayo if you believe you need one.
I had surgery and a few procedures conducted here. This is not the same care as Mayo Rochester. My surgeon never thought outside of the box or consulted other doctors on staff. Instead he chose to misprescribe medication forgot to conduct a portion of a surgery misdiagnosed me and gave me poor post surgery care that landed me in the ER. You will find better doctors elsewhere. The arrogance of Dr. Johnny Yi and Dr. Lester Mertz wasnt understandable.
The music that they make you listen to is very depressing. Also there is intermittent chit and chatter as if Im listening to a police scanner. Call Rochester the music is much better.
I wanted to tell everyone that Dr Samine Ravanbakhsh M.D. is extremely thorough professional and has treated me in such a way that I will recommend her to all my friends and family. She has gone into great detail to make sure we understand the full .scope of the procedure. In addition she has carefully guided me through the Mayo Clinic making me feel like I am the most important patientHoward H.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
