List of Megan C. Cheney's Reviews
I was recommended to come go Dr. Cheney to see about my hormones due to not being able to lose weight despite my active lifestyle and healthy eating habits. She essentially told me to see a gastric bypass doctor on the 2nd floor. She never called and explained results just that they were in range. Her tone during the appointment became very annoyed. I highly do not suggest going to her.
I’m sure dr. Cheney is knowledgeable in her work but apparently if you have a doctors appointment scheduled, they will give you a confusing answer about if your appointment will happen that day or not. No thanks going to a better doctor !
Dr. Cheney may be a competent physician, but her lack of warmth makes it hard for her clinical knowledge to shine through. She is quite cold and curt, which makes it tough to open up to her or ask questions. She seems more interested in staying on schedule and checking the boxes than in how you are doing, which makes the pregnancy journey feel scarier, especially for a first time mama.
I would not recommend Dr. Cheney to any young female looking for a GYN, as she merely does the bare minimum. I used to bring in a short list of questions/concerns to her as the office told me to do, but she would consistently blow each concern off with little to no explanations. I am also appalled that her “solution” time and time again was to just ‘take Advil’, even after my MANY attempts to advocate for myself that the pain was abnormal & affecting my day-to-day life. After 2 years of hell, I finally went to a different GYN. On the first visit with this other GYN, he immediately was more compassionate, and after a thorough exam, diagnosed me with ‘hypertonic pelvic floor dysfunction’, which explained ALL the symptoms I had been describing to Dr. Cheney for years. He sent me to a PT and actually LISTENED to what MY body needed, and I am FINALLY now living symptom-free (no thanks to Dr. Cheney). Her patients deserve much more care and solutions than what she pitifully gives out.

I don’t know if she just assumes that young females can ‘tough it out’ and don’t need medical attention unless they were bleeding out on her floor? I am also appalled that her “solution” time and time again was to just ‘take Advil or another pain medication’, even after my MANY attempts to advocate for myself that the pain and symptoms I was experiencing were abnormal and affecting my day-to-day life. I would have to be the one to go through possible reasonings behind my symptoms, to which she would respond “well it COULD be that…” and then proceed to not order any tests or take any action on the matter. She was unfortunately my GYN for 2 years; but I am so thankful that I had a friend refer me to a different GYN. It wasn’t until seeing this different GYN that it became so apparent how negative visits with Dr. Cheney were. This review is honestly written in hopes that Dr. Cheney will read this and work harder and better for her patients. They deserve so much more attention, care, and solutions than what she pitifully gives out.

Dr Cheney is wonderful, and her nurse Susie is, as well. They have a ‘system’ down pat to get you in & out with minimal waiting and a thorough history & exam. Dr Cheney listens, and takes the time you need to cover any issues you may have. She also has compassion.
Dr. Cheney took great care of me during my prenatal visits as well as during labor and delivery. I was always well informed and by the end of my treatment I felt I had formed a bond with her. I routinely traveled from Goodyear just to see her and I plan to do the same for my next pregnancy!
Dr. Cheney is an excellent physician and a caring and lovely person. She is professional, takes time to explain my personal issues, and is very gentle. I am so thankful she is considerably younger than I, because I don't want to have to find another gynecologist! The staff is friendly, eager to help, and competent. The office space is clean, welcoming, and spacious. I can't say enough good things about this practice.
I looked up ratings and found Dr Cheney based on her location that was listed in Scottsdale. I made an appointment a month or more in advance, and arranged to take the day off (without pay), so I could make the appointment. I showed up on time at the posted address, o lot to find absolutely no signage or listing with her name on it indicating which office she was in. After asking around at multiple offices, I found where she practices SOMETIMES and was told she was working in Phoenix that day. The front desk tried to call her other office that was not listed online where I found her, and wanted me to drive 20 miles to possibly get in the same day. Not okay. If the doc can charge for missed appointments, I should be able too as well. Crappy office and unprofessional practice. Zero confidence in actually seeing the doctor, even if I did choose to.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
