I love it there the doctors are fantastic and the environment is so clean, modern and calming.
Provider Emily, PA was excellent and listened to everything I had to say. Her bedside manner was both professional calming, and reassuring. I left there feeling like someone finally listened to me and heard my voice and concerns. She took away all my anxieties about seeking help and gave me options that I was comfortable with. My care was excellent. I am so happy I found a place that I can trust with my mental health and helping me have better quality of life than I have had in several months.
MHCA truly has a heart for the community. Their involvement in local organizations and consistent generosity shine through in everything they do. From mental health to physical health, their holistic approach is exactly what our community needs. If you’re seeking these kinds of services, I highly recommend checking out MHCA.
My experience at MHCA was amazing! The entire staff is kind and considerate and the facility is top notch. I would highly recommend!
Beautiful facility, great people that seem to truly have a passion to help others
First of all - if you are reading this, I hope you get the support that serves you well, no matter where that might be - here or elsewhere. Best of luck on your healing journey. I am incredibly frustrated and defeated at this point. I have been a patient at this facility for over a year, at the recommendation of a friend. Despite having built great rapport with her therapist and making progress on her healing journey, she did tell me she stopped going because of "billing issues", that she thought were affiliated with her insurance. She eventually found out that she was not told the whole truth when beginning treatment here, and felt taken advantage of while going through a mental health crisis. Her insurance provider encouraged her to seek support elsewhere as the claims coming to them were not consistent with that she was describing. I have reputable insurance and verified coverage with both an insurance agent and a staff member at the location on 15th street. Agreed on a 12 week treatment plan (which was incredibly more than quoted), signed the paper, paid with a loan, and closed out the line of credit as soon as able to pay off. I was asked if I would like to keep the card on file, I declined due to the reason above. When the 12 week treatment plan was completed, I decided to continue services as I had established a solid relationship with the therapist and although was making progress, there was still more to be done. I was questioned by a billing representative why the next payment was denied, and I stated that I declined having that card on file because it was a loan on a credit card that was paid off and therefore, the card would not be active anymore - because I closed the account and was paying with a debit card moving forward. This was the first suspicious billing issue. It is now more than a year later, and the charges are not consistent whatsoever. I am aware that things like neurofeedback and treatment plan reviews are not included and are an additional fee; however, I have been attending independent therapy sessions for several months now. The charges each week should be $85 ($25 copay plus $60 non covered services) and I pay prior to leaving the building. But then I consistently receive emails or text messages with reminders that I have an outstanding balance. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 voicemails to the billing department to get a representative to explain these extra charges and the answers are generally saying its to cover a charge from a previous date. Even so, the amounts are far beyond what should be $85. It is very misleading and unethical, and makes the entire billing system here appear incompetent. After reading some of the other reviews, it seems as though falsifying charges is a common theme. I would give the intake psychologist 5 stars; however, unfortunately she relocated across the country. The therapist she connected me with has been a life saver, truly. I will forever be grateful that the psychologist recognized my needs and deferred me to this person who specialized in exactly my background. If you are considering seeking treatment here, I recommend it to the fullest degree; however, be prepared to pay more than you are told at the initial consultation with the billing representative you initiate payment with. Investing in your mental health is vital, but this facility takes advantage for financial benefit. This approach is misguided and feels deceitful, especially for the population in which it serves.
DO NOT GIVE THIS CLINIC YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!!! This place does not want you to recover and be stable. This clinic profits off of you being mentally ill and turns their back on you when you gain stability. I started attended MHCA a few years ago so I've truly seen how terribly this business is ran and how much they want to profit off of you. They don't care about helping you, they care about money. They randomly "let go" of my amazing therapist who I've been seeing for months. They were so shady about her leaving and wouldn't even tell me where she had gone. They waited until I called to make an appointment with her to tell me she was gone and I would have to find a new therapist and start all over again. The way they handled this and how secretive they were about it should've been a red flag but I stayed with them, which was a horrible mistake. I have bipolar disorder and I finally (after years) found the right medication that works for me. I'm very stable at the moment and I want to go back to college. Since I medically withdrew from the previous semester due to my mental health, I need a note clearing me to go back to school. Until I get this letter I cannot enroll in classes. I called this clinic and asked if I could get a basic note saying I was cleared for school and able to go back. The man who answered the phone said it wouldn't be a problem and that they could write the letter and he made sure he had the correct email to send this letter to, so all seemed fine. He called me back 2 minutes later after talking to my psychiatrist, Oksana McFall. He then tells me that Oksana refuses to write me this letter unless I come see her and pay a crazy amount to come see her. I've met with her multiple times and been very open and honest and she knows I'm recovering and that I've been stable for months. She still won't write me the letter though. So if I want a basic letter I need to meet with her for 5 minutes and pay almost 300 dollars. I told the man on the phone that I didn't have the means financially to meet with her for such a short period of time and pay several hundred dollars out of pocket. He basically tells me to figure it out and that it wasn't the clinics problem. He hangs up on me mid-sentence as I was still speaking. He didn't even let me finish my thought before slamming the phone down. I thought this place wanted to help people? I've never been treated this way by them when I was still struggling with mental illness. They make it pretty clear that they just want your money and that they don't care at all about their patients and helping people. They were nicer to me when I was struggling and now it seems when I'm healthy they are uninterested and can no longer bother with the basic pleasantries. This is no way to advocate for mental health and help your patients. Please read this review and my story and do not go here or give them your business unless you want terrible treatment and insanely high bills, where they are always raising the prices without disclosing it. I've had to call them multiple times and ask why they are charging me more every single month and they give some random excuses that never made sense. They are truly terrible. They claim to care about your stability and future, and then refuse to write a letter when it's the only thing standing in the way of my future success. A simple letter, that's all I asked from them, after paying them thousands and thousands of dollars . There's so much stigma around mental health and I've struggled for much of my life, so it's extremely unfortunate to see them take advantage of us and drain our bank accounts at the same time. This is just another place covering their scams with claims to want to help the mentally ill. They don't want to help and they never did. I'm embarrassed to say that I stayed with them for so long but now I can advocate for others and warn them about Mental Health Centers of America. Terrible place, terrible staff, and terrible treatment of patients. On my last meeting with my psychiatrist, Oksana McFall, I was discussing with her how good I was doing and how happy I've been in the recent months. I was getting my own apartment, and had a great job, and was doing things I never saw possible for myself. I was so excited to share this with her and she completely blew me off, and instead begged me to write her a great yelp review. It's painfully obvious what this place cares about and it's not the patients and being an advocate for mental health. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT OR NEED HELP!!!!!!!!
Emily Lyon at the Phoenix location was incredibly kind upon meeting her she instantly made me feel at ease and gave me a sense of comfort during my visit that I was desperately looking for. The office staff were incredibly kind and helpful too, I couldn't remember the name of the gentleman that helped me with getting checked in but I do remember his kindness and his gentle approach and his glasses lol I definitely appreciated the atmosphere and the feng shui of the clinic itself, very balanced clean and calming. I was very pleased with my visit and I do look forward to seeing them again.
I adore every professional I have encountered in the Phoenix office. I would highly recommend Mental Health Centers of America to anyone considering switching providers or looking to begin treatment. Emily Lyon, PA is exceptional.
I would highly recommend! Staff truly cares about their clients.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
