MIchelle Velasquez Md's Online Review Report Card

My mother is a patient of Dr. Valeasquez. She was sick with COVID and had a virtual appointment. Dr. V refused to give her any medications for her illness or severe nausea. My aunt got sick at the same time and was prescribed a z-pack and steroid. She's doing so much better and started a steady improvement after 24 hrs. My mom called back back a few days later and asked for the same thing and the doc said she would "think about it" and call her back. She didn't call back until the next day. My mom was sick in the bathroom and called right back. The office told her that she is not going to prescribe anything. Its been 14 days of diarrhea, nausea, and fever! She has lost 10 pounds is now & is very sick!! We were able to get her the proper medications she needs from a different doc and she is already steadily improving. Is Dr. V angry because my mom didn't vaccinate? She was told by her specialist not to. The meds/doctor care were all she needed! Dr. V's lack of compassion was disgusting

Dr. Velasquez is very friendly and easy to talk too.

Dr. Velasquez is always in a hurry and always short with me. I'm young with few health problems and come in sparingly, but when I do I feel like a burden. She never reads my chart prior (e.g. forgets relevant personal info, that I'm on birth control, etc...). This has caused her to provide incorrect recommendations, which had to be revised after I remind her of relevant info.

Would have appreciated a f/u phone call considering how concerned she was regarding my illness at the time

started seeing Dr. V. about 5 yrs ago. she saved my life. she diagnosed me with a liver problem, which in turn, I had to have a transplant. with out her i would not be here today. she is THE BEST Dr. i have seen in my life time.

Dr. Velasquez is a very careing doctor . She takes time to listen to you. She has an excellent bedside manner . Making appointments is easy to do and her staff is very sweet .

Michelle is one of the best doctors I've ever been to. She genuinely cares for the health of her patients. She listens carefully to ensure a proper diagnosis. I've also never felt rushed in her office like many doctors tend to do because they have too many patients.

Dr. Velasguez has a wonderful bedside manner. She was very good to my mom and is a good listener. She is a very good at diagnosing any problems and will send you for the proper labs, etc. If she thinks you need a specialist she will refer you. Can't ask for a better doctor.

Refused to fill nexium script and order cardio gram to check Q interval as advised by specialist. Defers to specialists rather than acting as a general doctor, even though the specialists send her the reports with recommendations. She overlooked a high thyroid blood reading forcing me to see an endocrinologist for another opinion to secure a medication adjustment. She is sweet and friendly, but makes it difficult to be a proactive partner in one's own health care. She is more interested in complying with health insurance regulations than the well being of the patient.
