List of MItchell R. Humphreys's Reviews
I only went to the Mayo Clinic because of Dr. Humphrey's reputation performing the Holep procedure. Imagine my surprise, five hours after surgery, only to discover a stranger did the procedure. The lack of honesty, transparency, and communication, is very disappointing for such a well known doctor. To be fair, preop, postop, extended recovery, and subsequent overnight hospital stay, were A+ in terms of care. However, the Urology department, specifically surgery, rates a D, for bait and switch surgeon's, lack of pain management, and minimal follow up after surgery. I will not, in good conscience, be recommending the Mayo Clinic to my many male friends who also suffer from BPH. The Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, AZ also charges Medicare patients, a 15% excess charge above what Medicare pays.
Bait & Switch... I came to the Mayo Clinic because of Dr. Humphreys reputation with the Holep proceedure, only to find out hours later in recovery, that someone else, a stranger, did the procedure. The lack of honesty, transparency, and communication was disappointing to say the least. Pain management was late in arriving and mostly ineffective. I suffered 50 plus excruciatingly painful bladder spasms ...
Dr Humphreys and team are very professional and impressive. I am grateful for their expertise at a time in my life where I needed it. Highly recommend - he is my medical "rock star."
Doctors Humphreys took me on as a patient when my other urologist made me feel uncomfortable for various reasons. I had bladder stones a high psa with inlarged prostate. My other urologist wanted to remove my prostate. Well I'm on my way home after both surgeries with Doctor Humphreys and his team at Mayo. I still have my prostate & no cancer Amazing.

I traveled from Florida to Arizona to hav Holep Surgery. Everything he told me would happen did. The result was beyond my expectations. He's a great Surgeon utilizing phenomenal Technology and he is a leader with this sort of Surgery.
I believe Dr Humphrey's could have done a better job explaining the possible complications of the Holep procedure. I was not satisfied with the result although I did have an anomaly with my large prostate!
I wish I could leave a 10 star review here. The best of the best! He is kind, beyond thorough and he listens to his patients and cares about their well being. Top notch doctor. He probably saved my life when I was failed by everyone else. I would follow him to any practice and would recommend him to anyone with kidney/urological issues. Thank you Dr. Humphreys.
I met with Dr. Humphreys January 19th 2018 for HOLEP surgery. He is the pioneer of this procedure and of course has done record amounts of this laser prostate ablation. I’m very selective about choosing my surgeons, based on skill set and after care management. Personality doesn’t matter. Although Humphreys is a very likable, exciting personality. My background of 23 years of working in both medical clinics and in the OR as a surgical PA qualifies me be discerning consumer. Humphreys is the man!
An outstanding doctor and an outstanding surgeon. He answered all of my questions and did a great follow-up after the surgery. Highly recommended, I don't think they come any better.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
