My 16 year old daughter was seen in April for an ER visit that diagnosed SMAS on April 12th. I gave paper work to have filled out for a chronic medical condition for school. Nine days later, I stopped by to get the paperwork and they can’t find it. The staff lost the paper work. In the mean time we had a barium test that suggests she is normal and doesn’t have SMAS. She is still in pain, now going on 40 days. We know this is a difficult diagnosis to confirm. I find out she won’t fill out the paperwork for a chronic medical condition, given the barium results. My daughter is still symptomatic for SMAS. She still has gastric pain and suggested her PCP fill it out. If she had done her job we would already have had it filled out. Completely incompetent and disregarded her symptoms. They have yet to respond to an email I sent on May 4th.
My experience with Dr Bulut at PCH makes me worried The Phoenix childrens hospital is my preferred destination for my children if anything arises if they need medical attention. A year ago we went through their process to find out what was happening to my child. He was bleeding in his poop and having diarrhea. Dr Bulut from PCH Gastroenterologists specialist diagnosed my son with ulcerative colitis. She then explained to me that my son needed to be on life long medication and steroids . The medication would make him sick still and suppress his immune system. There would still be a 50% chance he would have to take his colon out and have a poop bag. I asked her how this happened to him ..is it what he eats etc. She told me there was nothing I could do about this and dont deny him any food if he wants chicken nuggets or McDonald's then give him what he wants. I told her that I needed a second opinion and basically she explained to me that she would take my child away from me so that he would be put on "this medication " for his benefit. I told her that I wouldn't let his health get that far I would give him the medication of course if there is nothing else I could do...I got a second opinion from another specialist. My son is on a no gluten and lactose free diet.. and I'm giving him home made ginger tea..the ginger has stopped his inflammation from his colon.. no more bleeding no immune suppression he gets is blood taken to check his inflammation and he is doing better no more diarrhea..he is growing..he is not bleeding anymore.. I'm disgusted with the lack of knowledge at PCH Gastroenterologists..I think about all those kids suffering there when there is this non profitable way to help put ulcerative colitis into remission for these children..Ginger root look into it it helped my son. Diet matters when someone has ulcerative colitis!!
I am so glad I got a second opinion from another specialist. Dr Bulut diagnosed my child with ulcerative colitis. She explained to me that there was nothing I could but have him on life long medication. She used scared tactics when I told her that I wanted a second opinion. Taking away my son and making sure he take this medication. Told me that diet won't help him. The medication suppresses he immune system, would still make him sick, still suffering, and not guarentee he won't lose his colon. I got a second opinion with another specialist. My son is on a gluten free no lactose diet now. And he is drinking ginger root. His bleeding stopped. Pain is gone. He is growing. No more diarrhea. Inflammation in his stomach is gone. He gets regular blood drawn to make sure his ulcerative colitis is in check. He is not suffering anymore. Doesn't get sick all the time. I'm disappointed with the lack of ambition for Natural resources. Ginger helped my son look it up
Dr. Bulut was kind and courtaeous in helping me understand my child's diagnosis. She was very thorough during our visits. She also took the time to answer all my questions as well as my child's questions. I would highly recommend her!
My daughter saw her one time and I was told that she needed to see a psychiatrist. Just because her tests came back normal, it must be in her head. Took my daughter to another doctor who diagnosed her with something. Imagine that!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
