List of Peter A. Weisskopf's Reviews
Dr Weisskopf performed bi-lateral cochlear implant surgery on my husband, we think he is great doctor. Very matter of fact, never left having more questions. While maintaining his professionalism he showed concern and compassion. We are very thankful for the Mayo clinic and Dr Weisskopf.
I have gone to Dr. Weiskoph for a few years and have never found him very approachable and even condescending. I had been told that unless you have something surgical (mine is Meniere's disease) he is a waste of time but since there are limited choices for my condition I stayed with him. This time I had some new concerns to discuss but found he was worse than usual. He actually made me feel stupid for my concerns/questions. My visit was a total waste of my time and money. There is no way I would return to him ever again even if I was having major issues.

Very professional. He has a direct manner of communication which I really like. He tells the truth which is getting to be a rare quality in physicians these days who avoid factual discussions. Honesty and giving accurate expectations are what is necessary even if the reality is not what we are hoping for. His style is refreshing and one that is very helpful and honest. My surgery (insertion of a cochlear implant) went well with no complications. His staff is amazing. He or his staff answered messages via the Mayo Clinic portal quickly. I am a very satisfied patient. I highly recommend Dr. Weisskopf.
I would give no stars if I could. Horrible horrible doctor! Went in to see him after being referred to him by another doctor for a procedure. Keep in mind the doctor who sent me to him had run tons of tests and had determined I qualified for a procedure to help drain my ear properly. This doctor barely looked into my history, then made a sly comment that doctor who had referred me was only a PA and didn’t know anything. After running a hearing test and taking a quick look at my ear he said there was nothing wrong with me, and I didn’t qualify for the procedure. I then explained all my symptoms and that they had removed a tube in my ear, so should I get that placed back? He said he didn’t believe in tubes for ears. I asked him then what can be done to help my ear drain and keep me from getting further infections seeing as I’m almost 40 still dealing with ear infections. His suggestion? “Oh “pop” your ears 3 times a day”. “And how does this help with fluid build up”? I asked. He had nothing to say other then I was being combative and what did I want him to do. I have seen multiple ENT’s that agree I need this procedure but this is the MD that approves and does them. So now I’m sitting here with no answers, pain and pressure in my ear and have to start back at square one. Run if you are referred to this doctor. He’s a joke to his profession and surely can’t be trusted!
Dr. Weisskopf is a special kind of doctor, he's treated me since 2017 (three years now) doing everything from Cochlear implant to middle ear reconstructive surgeries, and even during office visits is adventurous enough to tackle whatever I'm in need of. He has been an important part of steering my Wegeners GPA into remission, and restoring parts of my life that I didn't think were possible to restore. I put my full faith in this doctor and I'm thrilled that he's on my team.
Treated me and my family like animals. This man has no respect or regard for medical treatment. Worst experience ever.
This guy was a pompous and rude. I would use stronger words to describe him but this site won't let me. I met with his resident for the first 20 minutes of the appt that I had waited 2 1/2 months for. Then the doc came in for the last 5 min of the appointment and basically told me that there was nothing they could do for me and when I questioned some of his statements, he was very defensive. The rest of the staff was very nice and efficient. But no need to go to the Mayo b/c there are plenty of other ENTs in the Valley.
Dr. Weisskopf performed a miraculous surgery on my wife to restore a complete childhood hearing loss to both ears. He is very competent and compassionate about his patients. We would recommend to anyone!
My son has had ear problems since birth. He has had 3 invasive ear surgeries over the last 5 or so years. The first one was done by Dr. Weisskopf and everything went perfectly. His second was done by his primary E.N.T. and it was not even close to as smooth as his first. Due to complications, I searched for Dr. Weisskopf as he had joined Mayo to re-perform the second surgery. And once again, it was smooth and almost pain free. Best of the best, no question!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
