I've been going to Serenity for years, and have had different psychiatrists. I have been seeing Dr. David Hauser for months now and the progress we have made is unreal. I have been on Benzos for about 15 years, and he has helped me taper down considerably. He is caring, knowledgeable and he challenges you in a good way. But he listens to your concerns and issues that are going on in your life. Thank you Dr. Hauser for all you do, it is much appreciated and I would recommend him to anyone who is struggling to get their life back.
Testimonial by Noemi Trevino Patient at Serenity Mental Health since June 2025 My journey with Serenity Mental Health began not for myself, but for my 17-year-old daughter. Like many people, I turned to Google in search of someone who could help diagnose and treat her. The first place I contacted was Serenity Mental Health. During that initial call with the scheduling department, I shared some of my daughter’s history—and unintentionally, a bit of my own. The gentleman on the other end of the line heard my story and kindly offered their services to me as well. Mental health challenges run in my family, beginning with my mother. In January 2020, I started seeking help through my primary care physician because I knew deep down that something wasn’t right. I felt different. That initial call with Serenity introduced me to something called TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation). At first, I was nervous—it sounded a bit like electroconvulsive therapy from the early 1900s. But despite my fears, I agreed to be seen by one of their mental health professionals. From my very first session with Dr. Carlos, I felt understood. He listened and truly heard me. He explained how TMS could make a significant difference in my life. Although I was still hesitant, I decided to give it a try. At my first treatment appointment, I met my technician and saw the TMS machine for the first time. It looked intimidating—still feeding into the old image I had in my mind—but I went home and researched it more. The next day, I received my first treatment, and to my surprise, it wasn’t scary at all. The more I went, the more excited I became. Alongside my anxiety and depression, I was also battling chronic migraines, nerve pain, vertigo, and ear pain. Since starting TMS, I’ve experienced fewer and fewer migraines—and my vertigo is completely gone. I’m only 42 years old, but before treatment, my body felt like it was 80. My life was centered around managing pain with multiple medications. Today, September 14, 2025, with only four sessions left in my treatment plan, I’m proud to say that I’ve significantly reduced my intake of medications for anxiety, depression, migraines, and vertigo. That alone is a miracle for me. I’ve prayed for years to feel "normal" again—to live a life without needing so many prescriptions. My father passed away due to kidney and liver failure after years of taking too many medications following back surgery in 1996. I don’t want to follow that same path. I want to be here for my future grandchildren—and maybe even great-grandchildren. I am so grateful for this journey and the incredible people who’ve helped me along the way. A heartfelt thank you to my two technicians, Anna and Kassy—you ladies are the sweetest. And thank you to everyone at Serenity Mental Health for making this place feel like hope.
I have called 3 times sent messages through the portal. Asking them to cancel TMS appointments. They will only do 2 then they want to call you to cancel the rest. It's like a timeshare you can't get out if. Tou also can't actually talk to anyone in the physical office. You have to go through a call desk that can't even call to talk to the people in the office. It's all on chat. How can a mental health facility not have a process where they can't to the people in the office or let patients talk to the front desk.
Brittany the receptionist is horrible at her job. Don't recommend making an appointment when she is working. Just walk away if you come in and she is working . You can thank me later.
Ponte Vedra, FL No clear paperwork, no copays, and they set up a payment plan for me but it wasn’t consistent. Never asked me to pay when I got there. When I asked they said oh don’t worry about it right now. I probably paid twice. Almost a year later, I received a bill in the mail and insurance documents. It looks like the insurance company paid for half of it. I'm thinking they did that instead of pay all of it because Serenity was late in sending the bill. But it was supposed to be paid for in full, it's what they told me. If only half of it was covered they should have told me from the start and I wouldn't have gotten it in the first place. I’m now left with a $3400 bill from ketamine and TMS services. They told me it would be 100% covered when I signed up. After a few sessions, I was told TMS wasn’t covered. I have no paperwork that was given to me at all which is also very strange and scammy. I honestly was just in a bad place that I didn’t even think of asking for documentation. So I cannot fight the debt I was tricked into. They said there was “no rush paying it off” after I found out it would be $60 a session for TMS and you HAD to do 36 sessions or it would be effective. They don’t tell you that there is regression after TMS therapy. So you’re basically able to feel better for a limited time period. I went through 3 TMS technicians there and only one was professional and caring. I do not recommend this place. It’s easy to buy into the therapy because they know the right things to say. But leaving out the financial burden you’ll take on is so disappointing. None of the doctors or technicians I had work there anymore. There’s high turnover which is concerning. I feel they just push for treatment to vulnerable people to get money. Be careful. I feel scammed and now I’m still struggling to pay this debt 3 years later with this debt I didn’t know I’d have.
David Gallegos is a sham. I was already on a specific medication from my general practitioner. My GP wanted me to see a psychiatrist to see if there was a better medication. I went to David Gallegos and he prescribed me what I already was on. That was all he did. I sat through a 30 minute interrogation from David Gallegos, only for him to say "I like drug X, which you are already on, I'll write you a prescription for it." And let me be clear, it was an interrogation, not a doctor consulting his patient. I felt so dehumanized by him - only for him to act like he was doing me a favor by prescribing me a med that I already had a prescription for. It was such a waste of time and money for me to see him. Then, the billing department charged me twice. Mistakes happen. They worked on rectifying it. But, to resolve the issue, they asked me to email them my insurance info and a screenshot of the payments. I did so. A day later, someone responded saying "I don't know why you reached out to us with sensitive information. Please call me if you need help." They told me to send that sensitive information to get a refund. But they couldn't even properly handle that refund for their error.
I did not have a good experience at the Serenity Mental Health Center in Ahwatukee off Chandler Blvd. I made a same day appointment over the phone late morning than called back shortly after to reschedule due to family emergency shortly after appointment was made and they insisted on charging me $150 no show fee even though I called back shortly after to reschedule the appointment and who ever the staff member at the front desk that took the call was very rude and unhelpful with rescheduling the appointment In addition, I needed the time to research my insurance to make sure what was and not covered prior to the appointment. The scheduler still wanted to charge me a $150 no show fee with no signed written documents of acknowledgement of their policies. So I decided I did not want to experiment with this dog and pony show of an outfit. Based on my research of their several negative reviews and upset customers, I would be very cautious of doing business here and READ the fine print of there re-scheduling policies prior to even making an appointment. .If they act like this before one enters the front door, than how are they like inside? No thanks.
The doctors and staff are nice enough, though I was never able to actually get my prescriptions written in a manner that makes them therapeutic, despite multiple attempts. My real complaint is the hard TMS sell at the beginning of the appointment. Every. Single. Time. It felt like going to a timeshare sales pitch to get the free prize at the end. Every time i told them i could not afford it and would not be able to be there every day of the week and i was not going to take out a loan for it. They never listened and kept pushing and pushing. I would not recommend unless you are looking for TMS. To add, they never got my insurance right, overcharged my first visit, thought I had it corrected, same thing second visit, thought I got it corrected, same thing third visit, they said it’s corrected, but I’m not going back to find out. Subsequently, they now owe me money. Ugh.
Dr. Clay & all of the staff at Serenity Mental Health in Chandler are AMAZING. I’ve been seeing Dr. Clay for years now and I couldn’t ask for a better doctor.
I'm behooved and upset. First let me say my wife loves the care her psych provides and just gave birth to our daughter. The front office receptionist was extremely rude to my wife today who is going through PPD, canceling my wife's appointment when we live 35+ minutes away, after my wife was in the lobby LITERALLY one minute after their grace period. If you're not kind and can't use common sense, there's no reason to work in the mental health field. The front office lady lacked both and left my PPD wife befuddled and confused. We rescheduled but again, as a new family they should use common sense. We called afterwards and my wife's psych said she would be happy to see her. It looks like this front office lady was looking for an excuse to NOT see my wife's appointment, which really upsets me. They can and should do better, we called twice to let them know we were 1 minute past their grace period. Someone should train the receptionist better, bc my wife needed to be seen today and now she won't be. Disappointing.
