Shifat Ahmed's Online Review Report Card

I first met Dr. Ahmed when I went to the hospital after having a life threatening medical emergency. He did a lifesaving procedure for me and provided excellent care of me, and communicated clearly to my wife and spent a lot of time on the phone with my wife to discuss the procedure he performed and long term consequences of my health situation… I cannot recommend this doctor enough. He is honest, kind, relatable and explained my very complex situation in a very simple way. When I visited a few weeks later after being in the hospital, he remembered me, my wife’s name, and the details of my situation without a computer. Excellent doctor!!

I saw Dr Ahmed a few weeks ago for GI issues I had for the last 15 years or so. I was diagnosed with multiple GI problems in the past and Dr Ahmed listened intently and asked very specific questions to tease out finer details that my previous GI doctors did not ask. Because of the diagnoses I had in the past, I had a very limited and expensive diet which was hurting my quality of life. He performed both an endoscopy and colonoscopy with his very professional procedure staff and ruled out my previous conditions with biopsies. He gave me very helpful tips regarding diet and over the counter medication to help minimize my GI symptoms that occur time to time. Thoughtful and caring GI doctor that explains his reasoning and tries to be cost conscience to boot! I have already recommended him to my significant other and friends in town.

I had seen Dr Ahmed a few weeks ago at his office near John C Lincoln hospital a few weeks ago. Since I was teenager, I was given a diagnosis of gluten disease, but Dr Ahmed asked me some very specific questions to tease out if I really had gluten disease and he had some doubts about the diagnosis. He provided me with multiple options on how to proceed and gave me the positives and negatives of each approach. I ended up asking for him to perform an endoscopy of my upper GI system. He ended up proving that I have no obvious gluten related disease based on tissue samples he had taken. I had called his office a week later to ask him a few questions and I was surprised that I heard from the doctor directly the same day. He really cares about his patients and is very different from other doctors that I have seen in the past. His staff members in the office and procedures center are also very helpful, kind and professional. A+ experience and recommend highly!

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. 1. Scheduled appointment at 10am, I go in, they say I have to pay for a missed appointment that was at 9am. Thankfully I had a receipt for proof that my appointment was indeed at 10am. 2. Dr. Ahmed will do anything to get you out his door ASAP. Absolutely does not care about anything besides flinging prescriptions. Apparently extreme intestinal pain that causes collapse is "heart burn". Not a good MD. 3. Two prescriptions have been sent to the wrong pharmacy. Never have I ever changed pharmacies and I ensured all of my information was correct. Ahmed sent my Rx to a pharmacy 100 miles away. When I called to have it sent to the right pharmacy, they lied to me and said they'd do it and they ended up doing nothing. I'm even baffled as to how you mess this one up honestly. You literally had to have tried to go out of your way to be this dense.

Caring, sincere and diligent. Says it how it is. Never rushes me through my visit.
