List of Todd A. Kile's Reviews
Surgery w/ Dr. Kile- worst experience of my life ! How many bad reviews does it take to put this person , in front of a peer review? How many botched surgeries that one Surgeon is responsible for does it take before Mayo Clinic realizes that this surgeon is not only harmful to his patients but to the reputation of Mayo Clinic itself.
2012 surgery. Thought because he was a Mayo provider I had a home run. He was busy looking in the mirror during my office visits. The day after my ankle replacement while in the hospital he came to see me. He did not enter the room. He leaned against the doorway to speak with me for two minutes. Since then I have had an ankle debridment and two ankle reconstruction surgeries. You probably can figure out my feelings and if I would recommend him.
Almost 8 years ago, Dr. Kile fused my R great toe and did a GREAT JOB. Very professional, enjoyable, great sense of humor, and inspires full confidence from the outset. I am now having knee problems and am so sorry that he does not do surgery on knees. I'd trust him to do my knee even though he deal in the foot. NONE BETTER!
Dr Kile was a second opinion for me when I was having sever ankle problems. He was the second doctor to explain why I needed my ankle replaced. He was exceptionally detailed with the information he provided about the surgery, the risks, the drawback because it's still considered a "new" surgery as they only have about 7 years of positive results. The first doctor I saw I trusted completely but when I met Dr Kile and was really introduced to Mayo's technology I felt he was the best choice for me. I am thrilled to say I know in my heart I chose the right doctor. My surgery has been 110% successful and I can do everything and more than I could when I was healthy. There is no pain at all and I can even wear heels again! I know he has an 80 year old patient skiing again. He and his team are amazing. Alicia his PA, outstanding. If you are reading this I can only tell you I would and may have to have him do my other ankle if needed.
I would not recommend Dr. Todd Kyle. He performed surgery on my foot to repair a fallen arch and it was the worst ordeal I have been through. He never explained the details of the surgery and due to the Mayo Clinic’s reputation for excellence, I never questioned his judgment. Huge mistake. The surgery failed in every respect. I found him to be aloof, arrogant and very defensive with poor patient follow up care. After over one year with no progress I had to have a CAT scan and when I arrived for my appointment to review the results and next steps, he asked why I was there and had not even bothered to review the test results. He was going to inform me of the scan results and next steps but never did. After more than a month I had to request the test results myself from medical records. The CAT scan confirmed lack of bone fusion from the surgery. My foot never healed, was very swollen and painful, I had a limp, and I was in a boot or cast for over a year. I had to have an additional surgery to take out screws and a metal plate Dr. Kyle inserted that was causing huge pain-1 screw was too long and was rubbing on another bone. I consulted with a highly regarded foot surgeon specializing in sport medicine who informed me why the outdated surgery performed by Dr. Kyle will eventually fail and why the surgery performed by orthopedic sport specialists is better and the best practice. I had to have another third surgery to completely reconstruct my foot and repair Dr. Kyle’ surgery. I recently had this new surgery and my foot is doing fantastic. I would not recommend Dr. Kyle.
I saw him in Nov. and thought my ankle and hip would be taken care of in the 6 mo we were there. All of a sudden everything came to a halt, and the hip surgery never happened and transferred to Mayo Rochester, MN. He did get my foot and ankle in a boot so I can walk, I am very disappointed in the treatment in Phoenix.
Had a left ankle replacement 3 years ago. Was a great experience and have returned to a active normal life for a 65 year old male. Could not be happier.
Excellent doctor.
Dr. Kile did surgery on my foot for a non-union that another surgeon had completed with unsatisfactory results. He was caring, thorough, great surgeon and gave me excellent care! Would definitely recommend him highly.
I saw Dr. Kile and he seemed very rushed, didn't go over x-rays, gave a brief explanation of options and left. I got the impression that he is more concerned with quantity of care rather than quality.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
