Except for one young woman (staff member) who actually acted interested and friendly, the Dr's assistant was not at all welcoming nor friendly. The Dr. did all the required tests on my eyes, left the room, and that was the last I saw of him. His assistant gave me a paper prescription and directed me to the receptionist (for payment). I was surprised that I had had no consultation with the Dr. I asked to see the Dr. so that he could tell me the findings of my eye exam. After waiting 15 minutes, the Dr's assistant came out to the waiting room, told me (and everyone listening) about my eye diagnosis (nothing embarrassing, just seemed awkward). If I am going to pay over $300 for a (seeming) 15 minute exam/prescription, I believe the Dr. should have given me his findings in person. I want a doctor who really cares about my eye health, communicates that effectively, and hires people who know how to deliver patient care and service. I'll now be looking for a new optometrist.
