List of Gary Silverman's Reviews
Dr. Silverman is wonderful, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. He listens to you and trys to help alleviate your pain and suffering. I have had fubromyalgia for 28 years and Dr. Silverman is the only Doctor who ever took a interest in helping me feel better. I recommend him completely. You will be glad you saw him he will care about you and help you feel better!
He gives time and actually listens. He is a teacher and healer at heart. He cares about his patients. He never spoke down to me and valued my report as part of recommending treatment. We worked well together. He consistently treated my symptoms, not just the standard diagnostic features. Possibly the best doctor I have ever had in any field in my life. Sadly he is retired. I really wish this was not the case. I am so thankful that he field trained medical students. I wish him the very best.
I saw Dr. Silverman for 15 years I believe he was the best rheumatoid doctor I have seen. Very sad to see his doors close.
Dr. Silverman is truly the best at what he does. He gave me hope and a fighting spirit. I feel I owe him so much! But I stopped going last year, sad to say, because I could no longer deal with King Kong (DEBBIE); her attitude towards patients both in-person and on the phone. It's really despicable that she has such a nice job with a really great doctor, and unfortunately we, the patients, must tolerate her abuse in order to see him. She is negative, condescending, rude, talks nastily about other patients IN FRONT of other patients in the office at her desk! My jaw hit the floor! I've even heard her snarkiness going to or coming from an exam room. I've never experienced anything like her in a professional practice. At first I thought she was having a bad day and gave her the benefit of the doubt (stress?). But it was almost every time I went in that I had to cringe if she was at the desk. She's even demeaning to the staff. I can't watch or listen to that. No one deserves to be treated like that. I've never wished this for anyone, but I truly hope she has gotten her walking papers by now. I've been gone for a few months and it came up today because a friend was looking for a recommendation. I really wanted to send her to him because he is so empathetic and thoughtful. But I wouldn't subject my very sensitive friend to the DRAGON! I really wish him all the best :)
I have been seeing Dr. Silverman for 17 years. He is the only rheumatologist in Arizona that I would trust with my life. While other rheumatologists try the 'latest fad" on every patient (using them as lab rats to better the fame of their practice), Dr. Silverman uses conservative tried and true evidenced based medicine to the betterment of each individual patient. This is a rare gem in today's medicine. His practice is patient-centered and well organized.
Been a patient of Dr Sivlerman for over ten years. He has a very caring through approach to his treatment. He is very easy to talk to and stays current on the newest treatment alternatives. I would highly recommend Dr Silverman.
I love Dr silverman! I've been with him for over ten years. He was the only dr that treated me like a "human" since I have a pain condition that is not apparent to the naked eye. I will miss him so much, but I can't say i'm not happy that he is going into research and teaching. He always loved talking about new things he had learned and sharing with us patients. We are really losing one of the best dr's all around. I wish him the best and hope to give him a huge hug the next time I see him for being so good to me all of these years!
I have been going to Dr. Silverman since 2001-02, I adore him as a doctor. He listens, asks questions, has a sense of humor, a compassiinate bedside manner and there is a real doctor /patient relationship! If you don't want a treatment he doesn't push it on you in anyway. He also is really into research and gives you a copy of the research when he makes a suggestion, you make the final decision. I can't say enough good this about him! Sadly, he will no longer have a patient practice as of September 30,2015...I am devastated! I moved to flagstaff a couple of years ago and have made the painful trips down just to see he instead of changing doctors; that is how awesome I think he is!! I have known the office staff for a long time. Debbie is wonderful! Debbie follows the doctors orders, especially where medication is concerned. Dr. Silverman is very strict where pain medication is concerned and she follows through with this. She has a wonderful sense of humor and works with your schedule. Susanne was a bit stern when she first started and can has come off that way. When she first started I didn't even want to deal with her, but this has gotten better over the last couple of years and she does a better job. Mary Ann is a tough lady, but nice at heart. Again takes a while dealing with her, but when she comes around she is very nice. I am truly heartbroken that I have to find a new doctor. I have checked on the three doctors that were referred and based on comments that don't even come close to Dr Silverman. I wish Dr Silverman and staff the best in whatever they do in the future. Glad I still have at least 1 more appointment with him.
Last I heard, Dr. Silverman has so many loyal patients that he doesn't have room for any new ones. There's a reason for that. He is one of the best doctor's I have ever encountered. He takes whatever time is necessary. He is very open minded to treatment options, even natural treatment options. He is a great listener. I just can't say enough good things about him!
If you are going to post that you are accepting new patients, accept new patients, don't list otherwise. I called to make an appt and was immediately told we aren't accepting new patients. The receptionist was rude and I'm glad I didn't see this doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
