List of Marilyn Pupo Guillen's Reviews
She was very rude upon my new patient evaluation. I was seeking to get on some type of medication for depression/anxiety. I guess we had a misunderstanding with one another as I marked prior to my appointment that I don’t have a history of substance or alcohol abuse. Which is true I do not. But when we talked I had said sometimes not very often I smoke or drink alcohol upon occasion. I don’t think that’s a problem to recreationally enjoy a glass of wine or a joint every now and then. But she made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Stating she’s not a substance abuse psychiatrist. Even mentioned if I would be interested in joining AA meetings. And stating her clients need to be “clean off everything for 3 months” before she decides to prescribe medication. I understand the dangers of mixing the two and I just believe she could of taken a more understanding and professional approach especially when I am in such a vulnerable stage right now in my life . How she handled the situation with me i felt invalidated for my feelings and not wanting to trust her with future information going forward as she seemed to have a very condescending attitude. Now I’m not writing this review because I am upset that she didn’t prescribe me the medication or because we didn’t agree with one another. It was her approach as a medical/behavioral professional that I did not appreciate.
I was not only referred by my therapist but also through my insurance company to Dr. Marilyn Pupo-Guillen. I’m someone who truly needs help and guidance, I did an over the phone questioner two weeks ago and never heard back, today I called to learn that the Dr. (For no reason or explanation) has decided to decline me as a patient based off of my questioner. I’m disgusted and discouraged and offended. Thank you so much for making me feel this way.
Dr Pupo-Guillen is the most rude and reckless mental health doctor I have ever worked with. My non-binary child requested many times for the doctor to use the correct pronouns when working with them. But the doctor continued to disrespect them by calling my child “her” instead of “them”. Additionally, the doctor discontinued ADHD medication for my child with zero notice. Therefore, we are now in a situation where we have zero meds and no new doctor yet. It is beyond disappointing that a mental health professional would not provide a 30-day transition supply of a medication they have been monitoring on the patient for months and months. When I attempted to talk to the doctor about these concerns, she continued to call my child “her” even after my requests. She was also extremely rude and disrespectful to me. She continued to cut me off and would not allow me to speak . . . even at one point yelling at me. Please RUN away from this doctor as soon as possible. In our experience, she’s irresponsible with mental health care.

I made an appointment nearly 6-weeks in advance for one of my children. After speaking to my wife I realized I needed to change the appointment from one child to the other. I responded to the appointment reminder email still 3-weeks out from the appointment requesting the change. After not hearing back from the office I called 2 additional times for assistance to no success. I called yesterday and finally spoke to someone. They took down some information regarding my other child. One of their intake questions was something to the effect of have they had thoughts of harming themselves or made an attempt. I said yes. Next question was how recently. I answered a specific time frame that was within the time frame of when I made the appointment. Today, I receive a call from the office again following up on the original child's appointment for this week. I explain the situation. I am told that the doctor had accepted the first child but will be declining to work with the second.

By far the most insensitive women I have ever met. She believes all thing are cured by losing weight and being aesthetically pleasing. Her front office staff change every few months, and all seem miserable and unpleasant. She constantly is running at least 45 minutes to an hour behind and has no remorse when she finally gets to you. We requested medical records and kept getting told the “Dr will write ...
Dr. Pupo-Guillen has treated me on and off for several years and she is great. She is very thorough and asks a lot of questions to be sure she covers everything in each appointment. She makes me feel at ease discussing such personal matters and I feel like she cares. I would high recommend her and this office.
Have been a patient for over 7 years, wouldn't go anywhere else!
I left feeling more guilty and upset about my life than when I went in. I was told everything could be solved by running and meditating

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
