List of Richard Averitte's Reviews
Went in for a full body mole check. Preventative medicine, standard stuff. The nurse looked my body over with her bare eyes (no light? no magnifying glass?). Visit was about 5 minutes She didn't offer one word of advice (which was just fine, I didn't need it... family of Derms) but billed for a level 3 visit (moderate complexity, 35-45 minutes of patient care) and when we called they claimed the record said she offered multiple pieces of advice to justify the visit code. She also couldn't ID why my toe nail was discolored, took a picture and said to come back next month. Left me very worried. It didn't sit well with me so I went to a different Derm the next week where the PA diagnosed it immediately, reassured it was nothing and gave me a cream. Stay away unless you like being over charged!
TOTAL SCAMMERS, at my first visit they cut a number of "things" off me to test and then scheduled a followup visit. After tests complete I received a scary phone call with descriptions like "pre-cancer" and other danger zone language. Suprised that all the sudden I went from healthy to cancer zone I asked how much the newly recommended procedures would cost. It was out of this world expensive + damaging to my body. It turned out it was just what they were told to say, I really was fine and not in need of surgery as first suggested. Still a little concerned I went back for the "followup" only to have them cut even more off me (did they really miss that much the first time!?) and that bill came cost 3 times what the first visit cost, and received the cancer followup call AGAIN. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS, there are good docs out there that actually want to take care of you rather than farm your body out to earn insurance money (or in my case right out of my pocket as I am self employed.)
Horrible, a Doctor is only as good as his Office Manager allows. Incompetent staff couldn't even make an appt right.
Great care and service every time! I can't say enough about this provider or this practice.
Great service every time
I can't say enough about Dr. Averitte! He helped rid me of pain and discomfort after a botched medical procedure; he"cleaned up" a scar gifted to me after an emergency appendectomy and it's no longer causing me discomfort and much less unsightly. FABULOUS "bedside manner"!!!
I wrote Dr. Averitte a letter regarding my experience with one of the doctor's in his practice. I was very upset by the Mohs procedure that had been performed and how much they removed the first time. I have had Mohs surgery 4 times previously and never has this much been removed, especially the first time they went in. His assistant called me back to tell me he was out of town that week, but she would be sure he sees it when he is back in the office. It has been 3 weeks and I have not been contacted by him. I have referred my mother, step-dad and boss to their practice and can not believe he has not responded to my question as to why so much was removed. That is very poor patient service and shows me they do not care about me or the trauma I went through due to this procedure.
Had a very bad experience when visited Dr. Richard Averitte. His bedside manner is very poor and argued with me when I asked him a question. He is very rude and very impatient to me and did not give me a correct diagnose at all. No privacy and insisted including the physician assistance into the diagnose while I clearly request the privacy. Don't recommend this Doctor to anyone.
If you are looking for a doctor who has a quality practice, then Dr Averitte is the one. He saved my brother from skin cancer by detecting it early. It was as small is a needle but because he is thorough he found it. That's why I travel all the way from CA to see him. As a plus...he is really nice man too..
I've been seeing Dr. Averitte for about 7 years now and he's the best! Very easy to talk to, great staff and he's very professional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
