Scottsdale Affordable Dentistry's Online Review Report Card

My son broke a tooth and i called Scottsdale Affordable Dentistry and this was Labor Day weekend. Dr. Standage got back to me and said he would check (he was in Colorado) the schedule. Told him son was not in pain and he scheduled him in for Tuesday. What impressed me most was this man got right back to me and my son was not even a patient of his but Dr. Standage treated this like he was. I have never had a dentist call me back that was on vacation in my life and I am 74 years old It is usually some answering service that NEVER get back. I am sold on Dr. Standage . I

Every single person at this clinic goes above and beyond for the care and consideration of their patients. I am so glad I chose to go to this clinic, they helped me through one of the most painful time in my life and worked with my budget. I will be coming back for routine care here. The front desk was very helpful in giving me information when I called in for the first time with questions. They were patient and friendly and really did help me. I appreciate it.

If I could sue this guy I would. He did several root canals and when all failed and required extractions and emergency surgery to make bone grafts from the infection (which was there every time I went to see him), he told me is was MY fault, I wasn't flossing correctly. I have a very stringent oral care including a water pik, electronic plaque toothbrush and flossing. He's horrible with people, very short with his staff. I would never recommend this hack to anyone. He cost me years of pain and tens of thousands of dollars to remediate his horrible work.

I don't always go to the dentist, but when I do, I choose Scottsdale Affordable Dentistry. Stay brushing my friends..... it would be amazing to just leave this, but that wouldn't be a proper review. My visit here was excellent. As someone without dental insurance, I do not go to the dentist unless I seriously need it. After having my wisdom teeth taken out 3 weeks earlier, I was still feeling residual pain in my mouth. This added to my nervousness as dentist offices can be dreary places with long waits and high bills. HOWEVER, my experience here was the complete opposite. Despite not filling out the prerequisite health forms online, I was still taken to the backroom within minutes of filling it out. The dental assistant was kind, friendly, and inquisitive to what was bothering me. I received X-Rays for my entire mouth for the same price as their new patient special. This goes beyond what I had received anywhere else. Despite only having an appointment for an exam and X-Rays, I was able get a cleaning during the same visit. Dr. Nestlerode was kind, soft-spoken, and fully attentive to what was bothering me. During my cleaning, there were times when I did not have my head in the right position. However, he never got frustrated or raised his voice. He was gentle yet thorough. I did not experience any pain throughout the cleaning. When he was finished, he asked if there was anything else bothering me and he did not hesitate to take another look. He answered all of my questions and made sure I was fully comfortable and happy with the service I received before leaving. Theresa, the manager, was also very kind. She gave me excellent pricing for something that I would not have been able to afford otherwise. She is also very communicative and will answer any question you may have. Do not hesitate to contact her if you are worried about something. She will work with you. P.S. They also have an N64 (arcade style) with Diddy Kong Racing in the waiting room and televisions by the dental chairs. It is a nice touch that I haven't seen anywhere else.

I had a horrible experience - he has terrible people skills and then when I complained that one of my new crowns felt infected, he insisted it wasn't and after another week had me come in and then acknowledged the infection but told me it was my fault because i hadn't bitten down hard enough when he inserted the new crown. Some of the work was very good but the constant scolding and attitude of arrogance was off-putting and unprofessional and then the pain i had to endure because he insisted I did not have an infection for almost a week while I in fact did, was unconscionable. Whoever answers the phone is rude as well,

I had a Great experience with my Dentures, they explained all options and helped me pick the right solution. Staff was very polite, and knowledgeable. Barry Nestlerode, DDS, did a fabulous job, Highly recommended.

This was by far the rudest customer service I've ever experienced
