If I could give a negative star review I would. Patient beware!! I was moved from seeing my doctor to seeing a nurse practioner in the office. She neglected to notify me that there was a concerning mass that I needed to follow up on that was detected through recent imaging. When trying to get the follow up appt secured, the team refused to submit necessary orders to Simon Med. When I reported to the office manager Heather and asked to switch practioners she did not follow up. When I followed up I was told I would have to switch offices to across town because they did not want to hurt the feelings of my practioner. The office across town could not see me for 6 months so overdue imaging and being proactive with health concerns would be impossible.

She listens and explains everything well. I feel safe with her and surgery went well. Happy with everything. She is knowledgeable and caring. I would recommend her everyone. I had a breast cancer and just recently had a one year follow up appointment.

I had a couple surgeries with Dr. Gunia, the first to remove a noncancerous lump. It got infected and she did another surgery to get rid of the infection. It got worse to where I ended up with "home health care" to treat the infection daily. She did not know what to do and after about nine months, finally told me exactly that. I have never had a doctor just "give up" and not care because an infection couldn't be cured. It was a year long battle but did not have to be. Fortunately, another doctor within the CBC knew exactly what it was and surgery was done immediately and I was cured. Dr. Gunia did not have the knowledge or experience to deal with an infection.

Extremely nice stuff. They make you feel welcome. Dr. Gunia is a highly qualified professional that gave me reassurance everything is going to be okay. She is very kind and the best, she took the time to explain my options. Very pleased with my first time appointment.

Dr. Gunia is hands down the best surgeon I’ve ever had. She was extremely personable and caring, and explained everything to me in “regular person”-speech, not doctor lingo. She ended up doing a partial mastectomy in my R breast, removing a large lump which was thankfully not malignant. I will definitely use her again if I have any further issues with my breasts. I HIGHLY recommend her as a surgeon and a breast doctor!

I feel so lucky to have Dr. Sommer Gunia on my side. From the beginning she was honest, open, and reassuring. I had a family crisis right when I was scheduled for surgery. Dr. Gunia told me to go and she'd fix everything. She coordinated new surgery date with plastic surgeon and radiologist which was a godsend. My surgery went great and Dr. Gunia has been excellent during follow up appointments. I would recommend Dr. Gunia to anyone that faces breast cancer. She, and her whole team, truly care.
