Sunrise Of Scottsdale's Online Review Report Card

I visited Sunrise last week and received a friendly welcome and the Sales Director was very knowledgeable.

As soon as you walk in the door you feel at home. The staff are welcoming, caring, and attentive to the residents. The residents appear in great spirits and are visibly well cared for. Tenured memory care director who truly loves her residents. The Executive Director is energetic, welcoming, and always willing to help in any way he can. You can just feel that your loved one will be taken care of giving you peace of mind. Wonderful place to visit!

The team at Sunrise of Scottsdale is top notch. The Executive Director, Erik, is a true professional. He is kind and caring. He runs a wonderful senior living community.

We had our brother in a beautiful Woodbridge assisted living in Irvine CA and do not compare to Sunrise at all. Out there, starting from the director and other personnel were cold and very impersonal. When we found Sunrise we were absolutely impress with the warm greetings we were received and even more the excellent care our brother is receiving from the proffesional administration to the personnel in the kitchen. All are very kind. We recomend highly Sunrise assisted living. We are greatful. Thanks

Not all assisted living is the same. Jaime and the crew are professionals, they’re courteous, and they CARE. Our prior experience with a Merrill owned place was awful. We moved after 6 months. Sunrise is a beautiful as are the employees who work there.

With their recent staff turnovers at the management level, they seem to have gone downhill. I would definitely not consider putting my loved one at Sunrise. I feel they are not capable and completely unprepared to deal with a Dementia or Alzheimer's resident. They don't engage with the residents as I would expect, didn't address or call my loved one by name or talk to them directly, it was always more transactional. They didn't respond or address medical issues promptly, and when I inquired for status, they tried to read off notes but didn't really know what was going on. They were very non-responsive to my calls, messages, or requests for status. It was a huge effort to get them to follow through on anything they promised to send or provide information requested. My loved one's room was dirty, and they were not showered on the frequency promised. Sunrise was unable to deal with minor behavior changes or redirect appropriately, and chose instead to intentionally drop my loved one off at the ER alone and refuse to pick them up - leaving them with no place to go. Sunrise is clearly not interested in the best interest of the resident or the family. The hospital told me they had done it just a week previously with another resident and handled the situation completely unprofessionally. All of the behavior reasons they used to excuse their actions were completely unsubtantiated by anyone else and in fact were countered by the hospital as well as the new place I moved them to. Please do yourself and your loved one a favor and take them off of your consideration list.

We are so relieved and thankful to have found Sunrise Living for my father in law whom we relocated from Chicago recently. He is settling in and is so happy in his new home. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who truly connect and care about each and everyone !

With a smile on her face my mom stays active throughout the entire day participating in appropriate group activites w care-givers and residents or one-on-one w the Life Enrichment Managers. Very organized. :) At night when she is prone to getting weepy they routinely check on her and reported that she is sleeping much better through the night. (Weight lifted.) Faith, the memory care coordinator takes time to listen to every family member making sure to have the needed care for my mom and peace of mind for the family. Jamie did a great job staying on top of everything needed to get my mom in an apartment suitable to fit my mom's needs without breaking the budget. Everyone is super friendly - especially the gals at the front desk. Overall, nice, clean, helpful, and friendly.
