I was recently made aware of a thyroid issue and decided to get a second opinion with Dr. Westphal. I must admit I am blown away at the thoroughness and responsiveness her and her team have shown. I already feel much more at ease with my situation due to knowledge and professionalism here. Thank you Dr. Westphal and to all of her staff as well.

Dr. Westphal takes lunch when she has a patient. I waited 20 minutes. It isn't so much the time, but lack of work ethic. She disregarded my symptoms, my records from my doctor, and my lab work. I clearly have a thyroid problem and she suggests menopause and a gastrointestinal disorder for which I have been tested. She didn't bother to investigate my thyroid, nor consult any thyroid specialists (although I get the feeling Mayo has limited knowledge in this department from other reviews I've read) and just dismissed my condition as not thyroid. Then told me to see an internist. My INTERNIST referred me to Mayo for a thyroid disorder. She and this clinic have no compassion or any kind of standard of care. Don't bother.

I flew to the Mayo Clinic to see Dr. Westphal twice in 2015. She ran some lab tests for my symptoms of fluctuating high blood pressure headaches, heavy sweating for no known reason, palpitations, and feeling shaky. Then she patted my had and told me that for some women, menopause symptoms can last the rest of their lives. I've recently been diagnosed with a rare tumor that causes these symptoms - a pheochromocytoma. Dr. Westphal and the esteemed Mayo Clinic totally missed it. What a waste of money! Huge disappointment.

Dr Westphal is an amazing physician takes time with each patient,great communication. She pays close attention to all my multiple health issues.We live out of state and she is always available to discuss problems with my diabetes.

Don't let the reviews scare you off. I found Dr. Westphal to be very helpful and kind. She took the time to listen to every concern I have and gave me a thorough examination. She looked at every piece of paperwork I brought in and made a plan of action to determine diagnosis. I felt comfortable and hopeful in her care.

Was very difficult to talk with her. She seemed not to care. Gave directions on how to proceed with my illness that would have been in direct conflit with other medications i was taking. She knew about this. i would not go back to her.

Has no bed side manners. Very cold, seems like she wanted to be any where but with people, did not provide correct information for my visit. I would not recommend seeing her.

Right in time and a last minute appointment. Great communication and spent all the time needed to explain everything. She was prepared and very kind. Would highly recommend.
