List of Dax Trujillo's Reviews
If you want straight answers, Dr Trujillo is the doctor for you. He is the first physician and specialist to accurately diagnose and treat my back problem. I have seen physicians all across the nation. Military, VA and private practice doctors just ignored the issue. After a couple of diagnostic tools and he has been working on me for over a year. Best I have felt in 50 years!
Wow, after reading the other reviews I'm in disbelief. I have DDD, spondylosis, spinal stenosis, cord flattening and so much more. I have been to BNI, Chapel Hill and Duke for treatments/options. Dr. Trujillo has seen me twice ( which is more than most Drs in pain management. 1st cost then a PA or NP after that). I have been offered numerous treatments including the spinal nerve stimulator and I am on Healthy Choice Az. I set my boundaries, as far as what envasive things I would do (I have had fusions, nerve ablation, etc) and they have respected them. I have had no problems getting my meds to a level that allows me to, as much as possible, function as a normal healthy human. They staff has always been friendly and quick to answer any questions. By far one of the best experiences I have had with pain management.
Dr. Trujillo and PA Michelle and PA Hall told all of us Pt's (non cancer) that he had to lower our meds because we "were not state compliant"with the new opioid Epidemic Act Law. He said he had no choice but was that true? I contacted Cara Christ's office at the AZ Dept of Health. She states that this doctor like many others have. over reacted to the law causing increased and undo pain for people who were already on opioids for pain management by wrongfully lowering their daily morphine equivalent to 90 ME daily knowing full well that they were exempt! I quote from Cara Christ's own blog about that law: " We do want to clarify that the new prescribing regulations are not intended to impact current chronic pain patients already receiving opioid medication. There is no legislation requiring providers to reduce opioid doses or stop prescriptions; medical management is left to the discretion of the provider." Go read it for yourself. Hypocrites to the Hippocratic oath! Seeking Lawyer now.
Dr Trujillo’s nurses are amazing! However, the doctor didn’t live up to their praise. He was rushing because it was the end of the day, I guess. He has a speech he apparently gives all of his patients about meds. On a positive note, he did order the appropriate radiology requisitions right away. Hopefully the follow up visit will yield a positive review.
HE WAS ABRUPT AND RUDE..PROVIDED NO MEDICAL INFORMATION, ONLY WHAT HE "BELIEVED" AND "FELT." PRETTY USELESS
The Dr explained and answered our questions. My only complaint was related to circumstances beyond the doctors control. Over the past six months only two of my monthly visits were with the doctor, I found his staff to be helpful, there was only one incident where I was dissatisfied with the staff, and I found upon my next visit that staff member with no longer employed there.
My father was in an ambulance dying, they told me I had to come in within hours for a pill count. I asked if I could come through next morning and they said if I didn't show up I would be terminated. I had been at the office the day before and they did a UA and I asked if they wanted to do it count and they said No , The doctor was informed about my issue and didn't care. I have NEVER met a more uncaring person in my life ! I thought doctors are supposed to care. NOT THIS ONE, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE .
He normally does not see patients and the nurses that do are allowed to fake records about you and will lie to you about tests like mri's. If you are on state healthcare they will tell you your a low life and not worth spending money on for things like stimulator that reduces pain. In the office alone with them record it because they've been known to threaten you in many ways. They see you for a few minutes just to tell you they are refilling your meds and will refuse to listen to anything else.
This Pain Clinic treated me as a "Pill Seeker?" If you want this kind of medical customer service please engage this clinic. if its pills you want - go see them but please do not expect a "Pain Management" plan. If you want pain management services go someplace else.
Just go, wait,(up to 3 1/2hrs) (never less than 1) get script and get the hell out. Never been offered any help. other than drugs. Seem like a nice man but never spent more than 10 minutes with him in 5 years.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
