Riyaz Sumar's Online Review Report Card

Recently I was diagnosed as having severe heart artery blockage, 80% in 1 artery and followed my Cardiologist recommendation to have a heart Stent. Dr Riyaz Sumar did the implementation and when doing so discovered 2 other arteries that needed Stents. Thank fully he did all 3 arteries at same time. Post op, Dr Sumar came by and gave very detailed explanation as to what he did. Highly recommended, good job. ps staff & nurses at St Josephs in Phoenix awesome

I've been seeing various Cardiologists since 1983 and I transferred to Dr Riyaz Sumar in the summer of 2020. Dr Sumar is extremely knowledgeable and eager to assist me in my needs. He doesn't talk down to his patients, takes time to listen and explains things about medications and treatment better than any other Cardiologist I've ever seen and I've seen dozens of them throughout my military career and since I retired in 1994. He is truly amazing!

He the best cardiologist that I have had since all my problems started. I would recommend him for people of all ages

He may be the best cardiologist in the world, but if you have to wait AN HOUR AND A HALF past your appointment time to see him, it tells about his consideration towards patients.

My husband and I are so blessed to be patients of Dr. Sumar. He is a wonderful surgeon, and great person. How many doctors can you say excel in both practice and personal concern for each patient he sees. He has put stents in my husband, and he has never had a problem. He is my heart doctor as well, although I have never had to have any kind of medical procedure. He will stay and chat with you about your heart procedures, tests, etc. without hurrying you along. He is also interested in you as a person. I put my trust in this man. He has certainly cared for my husband, who came to AZ with 4 bypasses and a carotic vein completely plugged 18 years ago. He is the best.

Dr Sumar was recommended to us by MODERN VASCULAR, ALSO EXCELLENT. Dr Swarup, who handles heartbeat issues, works with him out of his office in Avondale. I have huge confidence in both of them. They are monitoring my husband closely. Dr Sumars practitioner is excellent (2019). She gives extensive information in a thorough and cheerful way. Thank you-feel we are in good hands!

DR SUMAR IS THE BEST FROM THE WEST

The staff was friendly helpful front office girls were awesome. Took care of the pts with smiles on there faces even tho they had a room full of pts waiting to get called back to see the provider. Me coming from a professional side of work you really need more supporting staff on the front lines. I saw lots of people just walking behind these girls and not even giving them a helping hand supervisor,managers need to step up and help. Dr Sumar is a good Cardiologist but I hate the wait time with him if you see you over booked with pts why schedule so many on a day . That keeps pts waiting for hours like me just cause you want to have so many appointments booked in one day. If this continues I'm considering changing cardiolgist due to the fact of waiting on Dr Sumar..

I have been a patient for almost 5 years and I am really happy with him. He is always polite and always answers all questions I have. He saved my life when I had a massive heart attack.

Dr. Sumar has done all my Cath procedures. He caring and reassuring during the whole procedure. he'll say relax and touch your arm. His Cath people are kind gentle and they all work in such harmony. I change insurance coverage to stay with him. I'm gratefull I have found doctors who take time and listen. sometimes you wait longer then you would like. It not because he doesn't care your waiting, because he is focused on the patient he's with.
