List of Affiliated Dermatology-Surprise's Reviews
If you're wondering if this is the place for you, BEWARE. Believe the low star reviews. As one recent reviewer stated, this facility has really gone downhill. It's been awhile since I've gone here for skin concerns. I had a decent and positive experience then, the facility was clean and the staff were pleasant. Because of this, I felt more comfortable going to them again instead of a new provider, and booked an appointment despite them being out of network with my current insurance. I called ahead of time and notified the person I spoke to that I knew I was out of network and was fine with paying out of pocket. That should have been it but wasn't. I was eventually bombarded with phone calls informing me I was out of network and to give them a call back to confirm I still wanted the appointment. Called back, no one answered, left a voicemail. 2 weeks out from my appointment I decided to cancel because I no longer needed the treatment I wanted the appointment for. Called and left a voicemail because no one picked up after being on hold for 15 mins. I eventually received an email about the appointment and so informed them of my intention to cancel. I ended up getting phone calls asking me why I was cancelling and to please call back to confirm I wanted to cancel. What? I called back and you guessed it, voicemail again because the hold was so long. Then I receive a text message yesterday and I informed of my cancellation AGAIN. Received a confirmation it was recognized and I finally felt free of this hassle just to cancel. WRONG. Received yet another phone call asking me to explain if I would be paying out of pocket and to please call to confirm my appointment. It didn't matter if I left voicemails, talked to staff directly (rare), responded to their email and text inquiries, it was clear to me we were just gonna play this game of phone tag back and forth and I was over it. I don't know what's going on at this facility but the communication is terrible and the customer service has certainly deteriorated. I understand it could be a system issue or staff shortages but I felt extremely harassed and disappointed the entire time to go through such a process just to cancel, ahead of time! And to explain myself as to why I'm cancelling and to confirm by phone call despite receiving confirmations it's been cancelled?! I called back today for the final time letting them know that I will not be showing up to my cancelled appointment. I don't recommend them. I would have prior to this experience but after this ordeal, I will be seeking services elsewhere
Went in for a skin cancer screening. They cut out 6 spots that looked suspicious. 5 out of 6 were normal. The spot they cut out was pre-melanoma A typical cells. So glad they caught this in time. Staff was excellent!
I enjoyed the provider for my daughter to see. However, the scheduling and communication is a nightmare. I don’t think I have ever called and got a human, to schedule an appointment takes an hour minimum. My daughters last appointment I thought was tele health, we received an email to check in with link to clinic website and discovered was just e check in. Scrambled to the office as fast as possible, arriving within 15 minutes and they refused to see us. I could understand this, if we had not waited in the lobby longer than this for every visit in the past. Healthcare doesn’t have to be this hard.
TERRIBLE service and OVERCHARGED for routine exam. They will up-code you. Please do not go here. I had 3 spots on my back to go to the lab. Two weeks later, I got a bogus $2500 bill that was illegible and encoded to over-charge me for my office bill and insurance. Due to their improper encoding and terrible customer service, insurance did not cover the full routine exam. I go to the dermatologist regularly and I never pay for routine exams. I called the billing department and they said there is nothing they can do and didn't even know how to explain the line items on my bill. To make matters worse, Affiliated Dermatology Old Town called me 90 days after the exam (I was told 10 days) and said the cells were precancerous. Wouldn't you want to share this information immediately with a client? I have a hard time believing anything they say and I will be looking for a different dermatologist. Please do not go here! UPDATE: The billing office refused to do a coding review with my insurance and they left me no choice but to pursue legal action. For your own good, please stay away from this provider. I went to another dermatologist for a second opinion and he said he does not trust the lab they use. On a side note, highly recommend Dr. Giancola at US Dermatology partners- he charged me $20 for the same procedure. We sent my slides to a new lab and they confirmed that the moles were only mild and I did not have them removed. I'm so glad I didn't let Affiliated Dermatology cut me open to only charge me more!

Disappointed, on visit I felt like they were salesmen more than Drs. Had the hardest time getting prescription to my pharmacy, also was told this treatment WILL work and has only made things worse. Won't go here for advice or help again
The front desk staff here are so rude!! My actual provider was great but trying to contact anyone at this office is a nightmare, you get shunted to an understaffed call center. They didn't give me the info for what my procedure would entail so I called repeatedly and texted several times and never received an answer or call back over the course of days. It wasn't until I was literally on the table that they informed me of how extensive it would be. The front desk gal I talked to today needs to be retrained or fired, I canceled all future appointments and told the family members I had referred to this office to look elsewhere. Just horrible.
I have no problem with the practitioners, they are skilled and pleasant. However, I find it unacceptable that I have to wait as long to hear from scheduling, and the telephone system is a joke! The patient portal is terrible and messages left are not responded to.I am not going to spend an hour, two hours, a day, or a week, to schedule.No. Unacceptable

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
