List of Camelback Anesthesia's Reviews
The other reviews are not lying. The sad part is depending on where you are having surgery, you really don't have a say who you get. I had to call them twice before my surgery, both times I got the same old lady who sounds like she not only hates her job, but hates her life too. Very rude, no personality, not friendly, no smile behind the phone, just plain terrible customer service! The second phone call she told me I would get a phone call back from someone...that never happened. I was told I would know who my Anesthesiologist would be that day prior to surgery, that didn't happen. I found out 30 minutes before surgery who the Anesthesiologist was, he was not very friendly, but I wasn't expecting anything more given how the receptionist is. The Anesthesiologist barley asked me any health related questions, I thought that was odd. I saw the guy for a whole 5 minutes, then I never saw him again. It was the weirdest experience I ever had with an Anesthesiologist. Update: It has been 2 months since my surgery and my Insurance is just now being billed. Lucky for me I found a different phone number to call. Do not call the main number listed under google, you will get the same lady who is not helpful at all. She actually hung up on me when I called to see if they had billed my Insurance. The other number I called, I got a very nice guy who was very helpful and we tracked down what is going on with my bill, and not even 1 week later I am seeing my Insurance was billed. Also, when I called to see how much my bill would be before surgery the rude lady way under estimated what the bill actually was.
A doctor from here was hired by Ortho Arizona on my husband's shoulder surgery. At no time was my husband advised that the dr. was not in network with our health insurance, in fact the dr. is listed as in network with my health insurance. After the surgery when we received the bill from them, and the EOB from our insurance, we were suddenly informed that the dr. is in fact out of network and our insurance paid $500 on a $6,800 bill. Now we are being forced to file a claim for a surprise billing with the Dept of Insurance for this. Camelback says they had no obligation to inform us they were out of network prior to surgery, and also they do not care that the dr. uses a new tax id to bill under and they do not care to put that new tax id number with united healthcare to become in network. The lady from the company that handles their billing is extremely rude and clearly tells us that they do not have to do anything about the fact that the dr. is listed with the insurance as in network when he in fact is not. Check who will be doing your Anesthesia before your surgery. If it is them, ask for someone else.
Anesthesiologists be careful of this group, and ask around town before working with them. Camelback is notorious as a top-heavy player in the Valley, where the senior members take from and abuse the newcomers by appropriating your time and money. I only contracted with them for a few months, but found them disorganized, exploitative and frankly a little weird (I still have the drunken text thread Dmitri sent me after leaving the group). Again, don't take my word for it - ask around town about Camelback.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
