i was a patient of dr. patels for over 15yrs. i hit a rough spot, was feeling desperate. dr. patel make an appt withme and then cancelled and dropped me as a patient without an explanation or referral. couldn't believe he would do this.

I see Dr. Patel regularly over the past many years. He is calm and professional, easy to talk to and is receptive to my questions and concerns.

Dr. Sandip G Patel is great doctor. He not only listens to and cares for the whole patient, but he works well with your other specialists and guards your kidneys. He has a quiet, caring and intellectual demeanor. He believes in diet and exercise, preventative care as well as possessing the capability to bring you back from the brink of kidney failure and keep you off dialysis for as long as possible. I met Dr Patel at Del E Webb Hospital and when my kidneys got in trouble during cardiac care and contrast testing. He explained and coached me through recovery and back to stage 3, twice now. My other medical conditions require procedures, regular testing and close monitoring and complicate my kidney disease...sometimes things need to be done that we know will stress the kidneys. He takes charge and makes a plan. When I am released, he is who I go to first, to start coming off medications and to adjust medications, again to save my kidneys. I have a fine team of specialists, top docs, and they yield to Dr. Patel to adjust medications to protect and preserve my kidneys. If you are willing to do the work, watch your diet and exercise, in addition to medications, testing and drink your water...I would not hesitate to recommend this doctor to any one. He is life saving and quality of life saving. While hospitalized I have seen associates within the Southwest Kidney practice and they have good doctors. Dr. Sandip G. Patel is in constant communication with those associates and the hospitalist, you are his patient and he follows and consults on your care even when you are not under his direct care. We intentionally drive an extra 30 miles to see this doctor. He is worth it. Your quality of life is worth it. If you are willing to fight for your health, this is a doctor you want on your team. His medical assistants are also very caring and available by phone...they get back with you within a day or sooner if you are in distress. He is what a doctor should be...be well

Dr. Patel and the medical staff were outstanding. However, the billing department is not professional or forthcoming. I was required to pay $1000.00 "Deductible Down Payment" prior to my procedure on 6/23/2020. When the charges were processed through my insurance, everything was covered 100%. I have been trying to get my $1000 refund to no avail. I have made numerous phone calls to Judy in their billing department (often having to leave a message because no one answers the phone) to only receive excuses. My UHC rep even tried to call to help resolve the situation but no one in billing answered. I will have to think twice before using Southeast Valley Gastroenterology again.

Dr Patel is our hero, he has taken care of us in good times and bad. As a previous hospital employee, you know the good ones and the others, Dr Patel has always gone the extra mile. He is compassionate and informative, two qualities that are hard to find in healthcare.

I never have enough of his cards to give out!! Dr. Patel had to give me very unpleasant news after a procedure a few years ago, the compassion and emotion he had with me was so appreciated. He truly cares about his patients. Best bed side manner ever!

Dr. Patel was kind and is very knowledgeable in his specialty. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends.
