List of Brandon Z Massey's Reviews
I went for a hand surgery to remove foreign bodies from my left hand and Dr. Brandon Massey cut my hand open and didn’t remove anything, within 5 minutes of the procedure I was woken up and was told that he wasn’t able to remove the glass that was in my hand because my hand was supposedly moving. Dr.Massey made me feel racially profiled because of the way he would treat me and the way he would talk to me rudely and he was very uncaring and unprofessional. I would asked questions and he would give me a rude response or just ignore me, he was not being respectful. I would not recommend this office unless you are looking for someone to cut you open and not remove nothing and put bandage on
Botched hand surgery. Discharged without pain medications. I called 3 times no one answered. Called again after 4th try finally got an answer but it took 3 more days to get pain meds. Office staff Rose and Melissa are extremely rude when asked to see supervisor Rose , she said I was curt on the phone when asking for pain meds when pain level was a plus 10. After having words and advising MASSEY of the situation he sided with them. Also told patient he could no longer help him. He tried to scare him away by saying he would have to do another surgery and said he couldn’t help anymore. Had the audacity to write a letter which I DIDNT SEE saying we couldn’t come back because wife was rude and my cause was I’m old and had arthritic issues. Well another real doctor proved HIM WRONG AFTER TAKING X-rays. Stay away from this self righteous egotistical excuse of a doctor as he botched my hand and made it WORSE THAN BEFORE MY SURGERY. All of this is factual and my opinion of what this man did to ruin my hand for the rest of my life, it will never be normal again. I am going to take this to the medical board when I am feeling better. So choose wisely and look at his other reviews ON THE INTERNET AS they are NOT GOOD
Dr. Massie is excellent at what he does gentle and great bedside manner I would definitely recommend him
2 shots of cortisone in my thumb for tendonitis in just a couple weeks. The pain that was there has intensified!! My thumb is ruined! Forever pain. Everyday! It's been months and months of steady pain. I'm furious.
No aftercare no pain medication after hand surgery inept rude staff. Upon last visit was reluctant to even look at my hand. Worst experience ever. This excuse of a doctor ruined my hand and could care less he has no compassion and didn’t show any concern for my aftercare. Stay away from him he ruined my hand I have hardly any use of it.
This is our opinion of what happened with our experience here. Worst excuse of a doctor we've ever experienced. An absolutely rude and curt individual who could care less about what happened after he botched a hand surgery doesn't even prescribe pain meds, inept and rude staff as well. STAY FAR AWAY ‼
Dr Massey has done carpal tunnel surgery on both my hands. My left in 2018 and my right last week(2021). I wish I had done the first one sooner. My hands feel great and the scar is minimal. Ihad a great experience with both surgeries. I have recommended Dr Massey before and I will continue to do so
After seeing Dr. Massey for a couple years, he finally got around to ordering some diagnostic tests, But he is ignoring the results and I have no relief. He thinks I'm lying about my symptoms.
On May 16 , 2014 Dr. Massey agreed to operate on the hand of a of 14 year old teenage at TMC. Dr. Massey was paged several times and they realized Dr Massey was intoxicated. The operation was cancelled and Dr Massey was sent home by the Chief Medical Officer. The case number number #140651 Az Medical Board of Orthopedic Surgery Board.. He was under on probation for two years. Check it out for yourself. He was reprimanded and I was unable to find what that "reprimand" was. He is not the doctor that you think he is. He has a Jackal and Hyde personality. I was his his patient since 2007. I had 7 surgeries on my hands. I got a phone call him on Friday and he was screaming at the top of his lungs!! I was in shock. In what universe is it appropriate to scream at patient? This outburst made think I really didn't really him. That's when I decided to look into his history.I reported him to AMA, American Medical Association. If you are looking for a good hand surgeon that will treat you with respect, keep looking, because Dr. Massey isn't that .Beware of this doctor. (gave him 1 star because this site will not allow 0 stars)he
I did not go to a surgeon looking for a buddy. I went to Dr. Massey as I had been injured in a motor vehicle accident in Feb '18 and aware of him being direct. After physical therapy as well as over 1 year in a brace with zero pain control or relief & completely unable to use my fingers or hand because of severe pain with no sign of getting better needed to see a surgeon. Dr. Massey first tried cortisone shots breaking up the 4 areas into 2 visits so that while yes I would have pain it would be better than doing all areas at once. Though I have a severe phobia of needles; I have previously had cortisone shots in my shoulder so I knew what he was saying was true about avoiding more severe pain. After the cortisone shots failed to work I had to wait a month to get in to see him; in that visit we discussed another round of shots (which always have an 80% success rate) or surgery on 2 areas (ganglion cyst with a 50/50 success rate and decompression thumb with a 90% success rate). He wanted to try another round of shots since I was just shy of 3 months no pain. So he does not always want to operate. I opted for surgery as my wrist remained visibly swollen which had been dismissed by ALL doctors at this point. Dr. Massey operated in March 2020 and was surprised as the MRI did NOT show the full situation. He found the reason my wrist was swollen was due to (I cannot remember the proper name only his description) white fluffy cloud masses in my entire wrist causing the additional swelling - which could only be caused 1 of 2 ways trauma or a disease I would know about. This turned a surgery from 1 hour into a 2 hour surgery. All of the nurses and anesthesiologist at his surgical center are warm and friendly. I was given a narcotic for pain relief which did not work - when I called his office - got a reply within 24 hours. Unfortunately I have a few medication allergies - he didn't want to risk an allergic reaction so recommended Tylenol and Motrin alternating every 4 hours at the beginning of the pandemic during OTC medication hording. At first I was skeptical of this recommendation & not thrilled at trying to find both meds - I learned my lesson as for the first time since my injury had some relief. I was given physical therapy the day after my surgery but they didn't get rebandaging instructions after removing me from a cast going up to my elbow. When I called Dr Massey's office - Corina discussed it with him and had me come in immediately. They wanted me in a splint and would send bandaging instructions to the PT office. This is the only time Corina got a little grouchy in front of/with me - while trying to put the out of box brace on a still swollen from surgery wrist/hand. At no point did the pain make me pull away as she was being as gentle as possible I did object a little - she wasn't thrilled at having to do a custom cut splint on the spot but did upon realizing I wasn't going to fit the brace - only took a few minutes. Never once did he dismiss the pain I was in or laugh. His office staff was not warm or friendly but never rude just straight to the point as is he. I was released from his care in April 2020 - completed physical therapy by August. The only reason my recovery has taken so long is I work on a computer typing 40 hours a week and could not take time off during any of this besides for the surgery. Thanks to Dr Massey I spend my days pain free & back off activity as he instructed when I start to feel anything. I am getting better everyday.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
