Had a very positive experience going to see Dr Atkinson for possible surgery. He sent me for cat scan and at follow up appointment indicated what the problem was and how to heal it without surgery. He was thorough, kind, and generally had a great disposition. If I ever do need surgery, I will definitely be seeing him!

This surgeon does NOT care about his patients at all! He literally FORCED me to have a CT while I was pregnant. Even with my HCG levels increasing daily while in the hospital he literally yelled at me "you are NOT pregnant " until I was in tears and heavily sedated. I was and am still pregnant but now have a high chance of my baby being born with medical problems due to THIS arrogant, unprofessional and uncaring surgeon! Of course the CT was negative! Please stay away from this surgeon!

Not open to conservative methods, surgery first option, not willing to explore other treatment options. Do not recommend at all.

Dr. Atkinson is an excellent doctor. He has great bedside manner and is very direct. He doesn't beat around the bush and yet has much empathy for us as patients. His staff is very welcoming, polite, and upbeat with smiles and warmth. I wouldn't refer anyone anywhere else.

If you want a great Doctor, I mean a real great Doctor, you need to see and let Dr. Atkinson treat you. The kindness and honesty of this Doctor cannot be matched. He did my surgery and I will never let another Doctor touch me. His bedside manner is the best and he explained everything so I could understand. You are making a huge mistake if you go to anyone else in this city for general surgery.

Dr. Atkinson is a perfect doctor--he is learned in his field, professional,great bedside manner,thorough, He was my doctor when I was in the emergency room. He took excellent care of me, visited me 2 times a day and did all examinations(XRAYS,etc.) daily and explained, clearly, that I was doing better, but he still wanted to be sure with all the tests, which took 10 days. I wish more surgeons were like him.

Thanks, for the space to express we, the patients, to speak of how wE feel about Dr. Atkinson. Although I've seen him once, and he is a, gentle man blessed with the gift of empathy and compasion yet he is straight forward and to the point on care. He is honest and minces no words. He took all the time I needed to answer all of my questions and I never felt rushed. I'm grateful I was referred to him. Nothing else would have measured up. Sincerest blessings.
