Outstanding Doctor . The Best. Sad to see him retire.
While vacationing in Tucson last month, I suddenly saw constant light flashes and black floaters in my eye - as well, I had a black blind spot. Dr. Saavedra examined me and said all was fine, despite my telling him of a prior retinal detachment and all of my symptoms. Not believing all was well, I immediately saw another doctor....who said there were “huge” tears in my retina. He immediately performed laser surgery to prevent another detachment. If I had trusted Dr. Saavedra, I would have suffered a retinal detachment in that eye. Instead, I immediately saw another doctor, who repaired my “shredded” retina and prevented it. I’m sure Dr. Saavedra is a nice man, but he really missed a serious retina injury that may have cost me my sight.
This doc told me nothing was wrong when I presented with signs of detachment. A second doctor I saw found a huge tear and did emergency surgery to save my eyesight.
Absolutely the most professional and knowledgeable specialist I have ever seen. He explains everything to me, is patient and thorough. His staff, from the front desk to the techs, are outstanding. This is one of the most efficient and well run medical office I have ever experienced.
Dr. Saavedra does an excellent job in explaining your condition and treatment involved. He is the ultimate professional with a caring bedside manner, even when he does surgery early on a Saturday morning!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
