Needs to work on bedside manner and being more gentle with his hands

Dont let the smile fool you. The way that I've witnessed Dr. Schilling treat staff at the hospital is awful. Yelling and talking down to them as if they are stupid and less than for just trying to do their job. From that interaction alone he seems like a terrible human being.

Worst surgeon ever. Didn’t even get surgery from him, because he never showed! HA! This guy left me sitting in St Joseph for 5 days waiting for surgery. I waited and waited, every day they told me he’d be coming to consult with me. Well day 5 hits I have had enough. I tell them no more drawing my blood until I speak the Dr Schilling. They come back 10 minutes late to tell me “there has been a miscommunication and we need to find you a new surgeon” he said he didn’t feel comfortable doing my surgery. Cool, don’t do it. But at least delegate the job you were assigned to do to someone more equipped. Don’t just leave me there to let my condition worsen, pump me full or morphine, and not actually fix the problem. They had no miscommunication to their billing department when charging me for the 12 DAY I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL. 12 DAYS for a surgery that they told me would happen the morning after I was admitted. Never apologized for the completely unprofessional miscommunication. Just know you let a 23 year old woman lie there for days in agony, they with held food from me every morning promising me surgery, all to have my patience pushed to the limit and my body permanently scarred. I hope anyone considering getting surgery from this man reads this.

I was dismayed to read the negative comments about Dr. Schilling and his office. Dr. Schilling removed an infected cyst from my back. I found him competent and personable. Hector, his assistant, was also very helpful. It was interesting to meet and chat with the young doctors that Dr. Schilling was training. I was asked whether it was OK or not to have them attend. Since my dressing had to be changed daily, Hector carefully showed my wife the (somewhat icky) procedure. I was treated respectfully by the office staff and nurses. In fact, once upon returning, the woman at the desk remembered me and addressed me by name. I don't remember having to wait long after my scheduled appointment that I was seen.

Dr. Schilling is AMAZING! He has taken excellent care of my husband. When I had to have surgery, my husband told the Dr. We don’t need a referral, we’ll be going to Dr. Schilling. He to great care of me. I enjoyed his humor also. He made me feel comfortable, and eased my worries!! -Theresa

If you enjoy going to an office where the staff could not care less about your health then this place is perfect for you. The front desk staff including the MA's are absoulutly THE worse individuals. They have no professional skills at all. How can you sit there on the phone, speaking in Spanish to your husband while there is a patient right in front of you needing to be helped and you tell them to sit down. I speak Spanish and understood everything that was said. The wait time was well over an hour. and when i asked the desk how much longer it would be, One of the MA's rolled her eyes and said just take a seat we will be with you shortly , then proceeded to pull out her phone and start messing around on it. ABSOLUTELY BAFFLED.

I had an unexpected emergency and was operated on the next morning. His skill and care saved my life. I wouldn't trust any other surgeon because Dr. Schilling is truly the best.
