Jonathan Insel's Online Review Report Card

Dr Insel is outstanding doctor who cares and has compassion for his patients. He is also very knowledgeable.

First of all I was put on hold for about 20-30mins when finally they were able to talk to me they had to transfer my call to the endocrine office Second of all my referral was URGENT and the lady said urgent or not the doctor (DR INSEL) has to choose whether he wants to see me as a patient or not. So I can’t do anything about it. And she said even if it’s URGENT it will take them a week or two to get me scheduled. What kind of medical facility would choose to who to treat? He might be a good doctor but their protocols and whoever I spoke to is not what a medicinal facility should run. I am a nurse and I would never do this to a patient. I would even advocate for them not treat them as garbage.

I was a patient with dr independent for over a year. When we first met and he gave me his treatment plan, I told him that I has tried this before with bad results. He told me ton try it and we would reevaluate. I followed his directives. After a year, not surprisingly, I had the results I told him I would have. This is when things got weird. Dr. Insel has been my endocrinologist for many years, and he is fabulous: compassionate, skilled, and patient. He is knowledgeable in all things both endocrine and internal medicine related. I would trust him with my life. His staff, however, are another matter. He moved from Tanque Verde to Rosemont Blvd, and the staff at the new office are rude and inefficient. I have been trying for a week to get orders for a CT scan, but for some reason, they will not honor my request as to where I get it done. It's my body and my health, and I have the right to choose a radiologist for optimal care, not for who makes the most money from my care. Unfortunately, I will now have to find a new endocrinologist. How very sad.

He has been my physician since 2004. He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful as there are times when patients struggle with their health issues. Dr. Insel has always been supportive of me and listens when I have something to say. I am very lucky to have him as my doctor.

Dr. Insel is very caring & thorough. He does not rush through his appointments, which has been my experience with many other doctors. He makes sure he understands your medical history completely and does a thorough exam. I am very impressed by his bedside manner and skill & would refer any of my friends and family to see him.

He is caring, helpful and knowledgeable

Dr Insel is not only a great Dr but he is also a very kind and compassionate person. He takes care of my son with cancer and all of his endocrinology needs. He listens to our worries and needs and always has answers. Dr Insel and his nurse take the time to really care about their patients.

The worst doctor I have ever been to. He misdiagnosed me and then told me I was a hypochondriac. Tried to put me on fen fen and prozac. Fortunately I found a good endocrinologist and was diagnosed and had surgery, no thanks to Dr insel. I would be dead if I had listened to him.
