Dr. Patel has been my Urologist for six years and I can't praise him enough. Now another member of my family has seen him and again, he is so proficiant . I highly recommend him.

I was receiving care from Dr. Patel when part way through care his office manager called me and said Dr. Patel decided my insurance doesn't pay him enough and is have to get the catheter taken out my someone else. No one was even recommended. So as sick as I was I had to call around Tucson to find help. Too much time went by and I got an UTI and I had to go to urgent care and they helped me out.

Run! This guy is a butcher and a scam! It was supposed to be a routine prostate exam that turned out to a nightmare! I walked in his office with no pain or symptoms and left in a state of total mess! He used some kind of pop smear that caused tremendous pain (that never went away) and barely did the actual finger exam (about 2 seconds). After 45 days in agony not knowing what’s happening, I was told (different urologist) that I have chronic Prostatitis! In conclusion, I don’t know why this guy did this, but please, be aware before you see this so called doctor. Not trustworthy!

The man stopped being a doctor when he conducted a Transurethral Endoscopy on me in less than 3 minutes. He did the same thing with a transrectal ultrasound....simply put: THE MOST PAIN I HAVE EVER FELT. I thought the pain was a normal part of both procedures until I found out differently from another doctor that it isn't. Why he did this I do not know, and I cannot say that I care, but I hope it does not happen to anyone else.

On March 17, 2015, I had what was (supposed to be) a TURP procedure performed by Dr. Kalpesh Patel of the Arizona Institute of Urology. The operation was a disaster. Not only did my prior condition become dramatically worse, but I will now have to shortly repeat the same procedure with someone else, hopefully, competent to do the operation. A different urologist recently did a cystoscopy of my urinary tract and bladder and found that the above noted surgeon removed none of the tissue associated with the TURP. There was a small amount of scar tissue elsewhere in the tract that indicated some type of surgical instrument had been there. But the result was that I ended up with a severe urinary tract infection, 40 days of significant bleeding, and an outcome so poor that I regard what happened as borderline malpractice. To his credit Dr. Patel did follow up by phone several times to attempt to get me to stop by his office to look at the problems. However, given what I went through I would never trust that doctor to get anywhere near me again – nor would I suggest anyone else trust him either.

The most memorable experience I had with Patel was getting ready for my bladder scoped . My legs up in the air, my vagina exposed, and he stands over me telling a telemarketer on his cell phone to never call him again. He than put the phone in his pocket, did not wash his hands and scoped me. He then said looks good and walked out. He did not tell me anything or suggest anything and he said more to the telemarketer than to me. Just as wonderful, his nurse was washing the scope in the sink with soap and water. Dr Patel is not ethical, nor good and clearly does not care about sterile environment. This man should not be practicing medicine in this way. He was awful. What kind of doctor talks to telemarketers over an exposed vagina and then not wash his hands?

I am unsure what to say The staff was bad, he was more concerned about his cell phone and answering it while I was in stirrups was wrong. I now need to see a real Dr because after two visits I have no clue what to do with my symptoms.

I switched to Dr Patel after a consultation on treatment options. He did not recommend his own specialty, so I believe he puts the interests of his patients first.
