If I could I would rate this place a "0". This doctor is always late, makes us wait 20 to 30 passed the appointment time and only sees my daughter for 10 minutes and charges the insurance plenty of money. My daughter asked him once why she wasn't getting better and he had the odacity to tell her " you tell me". We will NOT be back.
Dr.S has been great for me and has helped me make changes in my life that I didn't think were possible. For the first time in forever I can honestly say that I feel normal, focused, happy with myself and what I am accomplishing. He does listen, he does care, and he has helped make a very positive change in my life.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Streitfeld’s for a couple years now and I can’t be happier. He has helped me develop a stable and productive life through the development and maintenance of a medication plan. He truly listens to me and takes detailed notes, he asks engaging questions and seems genuinely interested in my wellbeing. He is not only interested in my mental health but also my physical health, whenever I have some issue spring up he wants to know about it. I’ve had several psychiatrists and he is one of the better ones certainly.
I can not believe this man is still practicing! It sounds like he has changed in 22 years! He still asking what do want to be prescribed!!!. I was a young mother with recently diagnosed Autistic and ADHD child, how am I supposed to know what would help. This is not acceptable. Take of yourself by not going, nor staying with him. If there was a negative stars that would be a better response.
If there was a negative stars, that would better represent my experience! I cannot believe this man is still in practice! He has not changed in 22 years! A young mother of a recently diagnosed autistic and ADHD child, I had no idea what kind of meds would be able to help my son. Take care of yourself and your children, stay away from this person.
I saw Dr. Streitfeld twice, the 2nd time on February 20, 2019. In our first meeting her prescribed Rexulti for depression. I returned for the followup only to let him know how badly it affected me.His apparent lack of concern for the effects of the drug appeared to stem from the technique of self-protection whereby physicians objectify their patients. Nowadays, this out-dated behavior demonstrates a marked inability to change. My impression was he's stuck in days of yore with little to offer. The fact that he accepts Medicare just meant it cost me a lot less than otherwise to learn he had nothing to offer (me).
Dr. Streitfeld is a God send. I searched for 10 years for a psychiatrist that actually listened instead of just prescribing whatever the “featured medication” was. Dr Streitfeld and I patiently and gradually adjusted my medications until we found the right combination that has had me stable for over a year. He offers the GeneSight test which takes some of the guess work out of prescriptions. He truly cares for my wellbeing and never forces me to make any changes do my medication without us discussing it. He is knowledgeable in the different medications and their pros and cons. He has truly been a blessing and I am very grateful for him.
Because of what I have read with reviews I would NEVER see this psychiatrist! I can't STAND ones that insult your intelligence or belittle a patient. I read he told someone they were being selfish by wanting to end their life. ...then he sort of smiled at patient. I do not know facts but if that is true and other reviews NO WAY MAN!!! You couldn't pay me to ruin myself with a doctor like that! ....and also it's not necessary to have an extravagant office. This isn't New York City.
GOOD DOCTORI was a patient of Dr. Streitfeld’s for 4 years. I saw him for ADD issues. And I must say I’m surprised by the negatIve reviews. There are a lot of less than stellar places in general that have inexplicably high reviews. Some businesses incentivize positive reviews with rewards like discounts. I think it’s wrong that genuinely good places, like this, have such a poor rating when other places that are just more actively marketing themselves.I personally would trust my care to a doctor that puts his time and energy into patients rather than on marketing himself on platforms like this.I wasn’t going to leave a long review here. But I feel compelled to do so now.Dr. Streitfeld is one of those rare psychiatrists that actually sits down and speaks with you about your issues whenever you visit— he doesn’t just give you a quick quantitative evaluation and give you a prescription. He’s compassionate, knowledgeable, and perhaps most important (and rare these days) is that he’s very present. I never felt rushed or like I was wasting his time. I’m sure he had some way of keeping track of time. But he was considerate and tactful about it.Dr. Streitfeld really listened to me and carefully calibrated my dose to try to control side effects. He also checked in with me regularly about how I was dealing with the ADD in general (since medication doesn’t solve everything— something Dr. Streitfeld really gets). He took detailed notes about what we talked about. And when I came in, we always reviewed what had been happening last time. And he seems to have a good system for keeping track of notes long term too. I remember once, we were talking about whether he was going to adjust the medication after I’d been prescribed another medication by a different doctor and he was able to bring up, on the spot, notes from years earlier to use in the discussion.During our appointments, Dr. Streitfelf also gave me ways to deal with the forgetfulness and the wandering attention. Perhaps most illuminating, not making myself sit at my desk when I was having trouble working on something, but rather allowing myself options-- the ability to choose a task rather than following a schedule (when I didn't need to). “I should” I would say to myself, “be able to just sit down and do this. I just need some self-discipline.” These were the kinds of things I heard often and had begun to say to myself later. It’s not that they were traumatic or anything like that. It’s only that it was a misunderstanding of how my own brain was working. And trying to apply it to my situation had the unintended result of making me feel constantly ashamed (as well as doing nothing for my ability to be productive). But with some understanding and kindness, Dr. Streitfeld helped me to quiet that voice and work with my mind rather than inwardly shouting at it for not working like other minds constantly. And I saw an improvement in my work.I only stopped care with him because I had to move to another city in another state. And when I had, and when I was getting set up with a new provider at a complex that evaluates individual patients and places them with providers based not he results of that evaluation, I remember the counselor was surprised at the care I described having received from Dr. Streitfeld. “This was a psychiatrist?” She asked me. “Doctors don’t usually take that kind of time anymore. That’s a good doctor right there.” And she explained to me how things normally go.I knew Dr. Streitfeld had been a good doctor to me. But I did not realize that he was actually a remarkable doctor. And having seen how poor his reviews are here, I feel very guilty about not having spoken up about it sooner. I really think if you want good personalized care, he's the man to see. Confrontation is part of good mental health care, and has been since Freud. If you prefer good customer service, I'm sure you can find someone who will tell you want to hear inn exchange for the promise of a positive review if that’s what you really want. But me? I prefer to get better.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
