MItzi Barmatz's Online Review Report Card

Dr Barmatz and her staff (from check in to check out) are very professional, helpful and friendly. She has been my urologist for 2 years. She listens, responds and gives choices for/of treatments. I also see an urologist and have treatments at a university in another state. Dr Barmatz is very receptive to anything that will help with my issues. I would give her 10 stars if they were available! (Any reviews w/less than optimal stars makes me sad for that person’s experience.)

This doctor might be a capable surgeon. I would venture to guess not, but she might be. Regardless of her abilities, thinking of her as a doctor of anything terrifies me. She should be made to brush up on “the art of medicine” or even just “how to interact as a human being”. In addition to that, she might do well to go through some sensitivity training- referring to a larger patient’s “absolute girth” might not be the most tactful way to have that conversation. Also, wanting to do a surgery on a patient without any imaging then telling the patient she’s “doing them a favor” then whining to the same patient about her “long day“ which started at 8am should hardly be considered a best practice. If you draw the short straw and end up with this dr in the hospital- I recommend requesting another doctor.

I was comfortable with Dr. Barmatz from the very first time I saw her. I felt confident in her and her office staff.

Dr. Barmatz was caring and very professional. She listened and responded in a kind and caring manner. I highly recommend this exceptional doctor who is making the caring and compassionate difference. Her Assistant was also genuinely caring and responsive.

Dr. Barmatz is exceptional - if one can ever get to see her. I've been scheduled but had no appt when I arrived, and have been rescheduled 2 times - now to see the NP. Phone calls not returned; staff doesn't seem to care much about the patients.

Understands Patient concerns and gives precise explanation to the problem. Takes time to give follow up to Patient and Family.

I have had a hard time finding Doctors that I am comfortable with since moving to Tucson 7 years ago, but by the luck of the draw, going to the emergency room several months ago I met Dr Barmatz, not only did Dr Barmatz get the job done, Dr Barmatz made me feel comfortable and informed all the way thru....Thanks Doc

Recently saw Dr. Barmatz for examination and subsequent surgery. I have never had a doctor give such a thorough exam, she explained everything and answered all my questions before I had a chance to ask them. Her manner was warm and professional. Wish I could clone her so I could have a doctor like her for all my medical needs. Was seen in the office 3 times, all appts. were on time and staff was great. Didn't want to have surgery but glad when I did this was the doctor and practice I chose.

Be cautious of this doctor. She is procedure orientated. When I asked her about a 2015 urological study demonstrating that only 2% of patient that were given an often painful, invasive, and dangerous procedure. Dr Barmatz responded with, "Men are wimps." I later sent questions through the patient portal that were ignored. Be prepared to do exactly what she suggest or be rejected.

Dr Barmatz has been my urologist since 1996. I have always received excellent care from her. She is top drawer. Also, her staff is excellent. It is a pleasure to work with. Everyone in her office is polite, pleasant and courteous. Thank you Dr Barmatz for years of excellent care.
