Old Pueblo Anesthesia's Online Review Report Card

I was being prepared for hernia surgery. Dr. Lopez was my anesthesiologist. When he came in, I asked him what he was preparing to give me. He told me fentanyl. I told him that I wore 100 mg fentanyl pain patch for many years and that it does not work for me nor does morphine. He informed me that he already had a plan and it was fentanyl . If I had any pain, I could let him know. Well he gave me fentanyl alright . The surgery went fine, but when I woke up, I was screaming. This was not my first rodeo! This happened to be my 26th surgery and the first one I ever woke up in so much pain. I think I know my body by now. To make it worse, they continued to give me fentanyl 4 more times even after surgery. My pain level never got below an 9 until I told the nurse again that it didn’t work for me only Dilaudid worked. Finally I was given Dilaudid pain level went down to a six, no thank you to Dr. Lopez.

I paid my bill and they sent me to a debt collector. Have been getting debt collector calls two or three times every day for the last month when I paid my bill a month ago. Terrible. The billing department continually tells me they haven't sent me to collections. After 3 months I finally got someone who was able to figure out what was going on. They had the wrong address for one of my surgeries, and so I never received my bill, so I didn't pay it. They then sent me to a debt collector. But they sent me to collections for the wrong account number, the one that I already paid. So I can't pay it, because it's the wrong account number........................ Update, they now have sent me a statement saying that my balance on the account is 0.00 because insurance paid it, and then 2 weeks later send me a bill for 376.25. When I call them they have no idea why they did this and say I need to contact my insurance. Completely useless.

They did a great job with my epidural for my pregnancy. They were able to rush it even though I came in almost fully dilated. Epidural worked great, dr was very friendly. The problem is with their billing department. They use a seperate company for it. Sometimes I would just get disconnected, and when I did talk to someone they were hard to understand (I have a hard time hearing on the phone and it's harder when they have a thick accent). Also I got set up on a payment plan and still received letters that it would go to collections. I called and was told it would not and that I wouldn't receive anymore bills but that I had to remember to pay it every month. I guess I will wait and see and hope they don't send it to collections based on other reviewers. I wish they would get a new billing company.

I was very pleased with the anesthesia care that I received from Dr. Pong Chanvitayapongs from Old Pueblo Anesthesia for a surgery at TMC. Dr. Chanvitayapongs took time to explain his anesthetic plan in a very clear, respectful and calming manner. He explained things thoroughly and answered my questions with skill and patience. I went into surgery feeling reassured that I was in good hands.

Anesthesiologist was great but the billing needs some serious work. Sent a bill stating that the provider was not in network with my insurance. Oddly enough, the insurance received the claim the day after this bill was generated and they are indeed in network. Very odd billing practice....

Their billing company tried to "balance bill" after the insurance company paid which is illegal. They also sent the amount to collection agency when I never receive a bill. I will be reporting them.

The billing department is amazing. I have been paying and getting bills since July. I have since gotten 2 more different bills from different collections company's. I cannot keep up with it. What the heck is going on. No one has nay answers. The average person just gets it royally as there is nothing that can be done of proven on your end. The bills just keep coming and you will never know why.

Old Pueblo Anesthesiologists do a great job. The problem is with the billing department. Our insurance company states the bill is paid in full and we owe nothing. Old Pueblo sent the bill to a collection agency for non-payment of something we do not owe. The billing department is also rude to the customers. Is this because they are cheating their clients? I will be reporting this to my insurance company!

can someone look into the billing problem. the company that the billing system has been outsourced to is a joke... seriously.
