Southern Arizona Anesthesia's Online Review Report Card

Sent me to collections over $154. Apparently only send letters, never called. letters being sent to old address, "theres nothing I can do" How about own your mistake or start calling people about payments. Ridiculous..

I was having the new Da Vinci procedure and quite nervous about it. The staff from clerks, nurses, to my anesthesiologist (Dr. Funk) were wonderful and put me at ease. It was a wonderful experience and I would ask for one of these docs if I had something again! 5 Stars!

I loved Dr. Thornton. Requested her a second time. She was friendly and personable. Made me feel comfortable and explained everything she did. I would highly recommend her and will request her again if the need arises.

As a nurse that has the privilege to work with such wonderful doctors and as a patient and mother of a patient I cannot say enough great things! Compassionate and professional is an understatement. Dr Hammond and Dr Brick have provided me with the utmost top notch care and I always felt safe and at ease. Dr E Revak provided care to my frightened child and helped her move to her surgery smiling and leaving her mom calm and confident. What an amazing group of physicians! Highly recommend their services.

AMAZING PLACE TO WORK!! I just joined the group on the East side as a recent grad. My transition could not have been any smoother, everyone is so pleasant and helpful. I recently was scheduled to do a case that could have been challenging, (being still unfamiliar with some surgeons and their techniques and preferences) I had at least 4 partners reach out to me that morning with helpful tips - and this is not uncommon. They are genuinely invested in my success and overall well being. I thought as a newbie I might have to deal with long days and a less desirable schedule than most, quite the contrary. They are a very fair and transparent group, they even made me a financial EQUAL!! Now You can't beat that. Again amazing group to work with, I love my job so far !!

I have been a patient that received outstanding anesthesia care from Southern Arizona Anesthesia. Dr. Dowling did my anesthesia for my tonsillectomy, and treated me like a V.I.P. The care and attention I received in the perioperative area was fantastic. Smooth IV placement, time taken to listen to my concerns about anesthesia and the effect it would have with breastfeeding. My recovery was quick and painless. I am extremely impressed. I would also like to say that I have had epidurals placed by this group for the delivery of my 3 children and it has been a wonderful and pain free experience. My husband needed an emergent appendectomy at St. Joseph Hospital and his anesthesia provider, Dr. Hammond was incredible. My husband had a great experience with him. He was very knowledgeable, explained in detail what to expect and answered all our questions so patiently. When my husband came out of anesthesia, he felt great. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this group. They called us after both our surgeries to follow up and see how we were. THANK YOU, SOUTHERN ARIZONA ANESTHESIA, FOR KEEPING ME AND MY FAMILY SAFE DURING A DIFFICULT AND STRESSFUL TIME!

They financially extort patient's for the maximum they can get away with. When I asked them if they would settle for a reasonable amount they were rude. They bill $1 per SECOND of anesthesiologist time and will not budge when you ask them to consider a discount, instead threaten you with sending it to collections.

I worked for SAA for around 9 years when because of family circumstances had to leave Tucson in 2018. I respected and admired the anesthesiologists with whom I worked and found the group to be genuinely interested in delivering quality care, process improvements, value added service, and caring for the physician owner partners. It was said by many who came and went that it was the best run group they had seen, and having seen a few groups myself I must agree. As a former partner I'm saddened to hear of the unfortunate experience of the locums physician who reviewed them so poorly here and the patients who had poor outcomes. Clearly their experiences reflect lamentable incidents but don't seem to reflect the my experience of character or caliber of most of the anesthesiologists of the group. If I should move back to Tucson someday and wished to be part of the premier anesthesia provider in the area, I would find myself back at Southern Arizona Anesthesia.

The professionalism of this company is top notch! The pre-care and post care of the individual Doctors is outstanding!

I have had the privilege of working in the Hosptial alongside SAA for over five years. When it came time for me to be a patient I was comfortable to have any of the skilled physicians care for me. They treat everyone with dignity, respect, and kindness. The doctors’ clinical skills are unrivaled. I would recommend any member of the SAA team to care for my loved ones. Dr. Paras put my nerves at ease prior to surgery, even making me giggle when I wanted to cry. When I woke up from surgery he was by my side telling me everything went great. This is an amazing group.
