The front desk staff was attentive especially Christina. The waiting room was spotless. I was searching for a new primary care physician and Pima Heart recommended Dr McNichols. I am forever grateful. It is rare in this day and age to find a physician who actually cares about his patients and examines and tests until he finds a solution. He goes beyond the typical BP, pulse, and respirations routine that most do for medicare physicals. I highly recommend him.

My Dad is 84 and has medical issues that require the care of a primary care physician. Dr. Mc Nichols was recommended by a specialist my dad was seeing. Although the doctor seems competent his office staff lacks the professionalism and attention to detail required in the medical field. Be aware of long hold times, poor communication, and non-existent call backs. It is almost impossible to reach a human being. Also, avoid calling between 12-1 pm as lunch takes precedence. Avoid the frustration and find a doctor with staff that really cares. In Tucson that may be difficult because the top-notch service providers are all booked up and seldom take new patients. Ina Family Medicine has a lot of room for improvement. Training would be a good place to start.

I’m not a insurance patient and that makes me not a cash cow and very LOW PRIORITY! Dr my Nichols is a good doctor just REALLY BAD staff! His assistant doesn’t follow up with voicemails left the front desk is a freakin joke rude and unprofessional! They WONT RESPOND to three calls from the pharmacy!!! And it’s high blood pressure meds! Lack of response will get u sued someday! I had to go to Mexico to get them!!!what a sad practice his staff has made for him! Yes I will be changing doctors!

Dr. McNichols is GREAT; but the staff kind of sucks! No follow up calls from ASSITANT, the front desk is a little rude. I pay cash for my visits! so they don't have to depend on insurance. Assistant NEVER calls back or follows through! with question I have had with medications! one of these times someone will need a refill on a prescription, and they will NOT follow through, and something will ...

My appointment was today with a PA since Dr McNichols was not available. I got there and the lobby was not busy but the two front person were both on the phone. I stood there waiting for one of them to at least acknowledge my being there or even better say “we’ll be right with you” but nothing. So I sat for awhile and waited for a good 20 mins; the frontdesk could not tell me how long is my wait. Luckily, I saw Rory, Dr McNichols MA and asked her my wait time, which she checked it to be an additional 30 mins. So I asked the frontdesk to just come back in 30mins instead of waiting in the lobby for covid safety reasons. The frontdesk just blurted rudely that “you cannot just come and go whenever you want; are you checking in or you want to reschedule”. So I said I am cancelling and left. That was a very unprofessional experience I ever encountered.

Dr. McNichols is a breath of fresh air. He spends an appropriate amount of time with me and actually cares what I have tried for my ailments that have worked for me. Most doctors just blow me off when I tell them things like how I got rid of 23 years of excruciating migraines, etc. He is actually interested. He is the first doctor I have been impressed with in years and years. He is personable and caring.

Dr McNichols & staff have been very professional , helpful, personable & also responsive to phone calls. I have recommended them to a family member & a co worker. They both were thankful & had very positive experiences at Ina Family Medicine under Dr McNichols care.

Dr. McNichols was very professional, thorough, and quite personable. He and his staff were both friendly and knowledgeable. I went for a quick annual checkup, and felt genuinely cared for. The staff was very courteous, took care of me MUCH faster than any other office I've been to, and made me feel comfortable throughout my visit. I would absolutely recommend this practice and Dr McNichols.
