List of John N. Gietzen's Reviews
I have seen Dr Gietzen for 5yrs now and he always makes me feel great about the care i received from him. The girls are very nice specially Lindsey and Olly.
He was good at first, then he became more and more disengaged with the patient process. Hired a high-schooler for his asst. Constant turnover on the front desk. No one would help if you had a simple quest. --Had no interest doing proper insurance coding--and wouldn't make corrections. --Their answer was to always make an office apptmt (more $$ for them). --They wrote a prescription for thyroid incorrectly; and would NOT correct it even with pharmacy--told me to make an apptmt--I was out of state
Dr Gietzen is very professional, knowledgeable, and takes the time to listen..He is an excellent Doctor...BUT his staff is absolutely horrible. Poor customer service. They never return calls, and when it comes to insurance information, I was not given the correct information numerous of times. I just can't express how bad his staff is....
He is absolutely wonderful. He will take his time to explain everything from medications, different options, any questions. He truely cares about his patients. If you make a appointment and not a walk-in you'll wait maybe 10-15mins before being called back depending on how busy they are. His office is very peaceful, clean and smells amazing(essential oil diffuser). Overall 5/5 rating every time. GREAT DOCTOR!!
Dr. Gietzen himself is good, but it's not worth it because of his staff. They used the wrong charge code when submitting the bill to the insurance, and it has been a nightmare trying to get them to fix it. What should have been a $6 copay has become a $400 bill and a ding on my credit. The insurance tired calling them to get it fixed. Lady from the insurance said she got hung up on three times, and was treated poorly. I've been trying to get them to fix this for 3 months! Never going back.
Hospital said I had a spot on my lung to follow up and he didn't know what thee hospital was talking about and said maybe it was my kidney????? Had to make an appt. to get a prescription refill and then it wasn't called in so had to call another 4 times. Told me Medicare is forcing death for elderly by not allowing necessary meds and tests. I need to find another doctor.
He was very rude and could not answer my questions, he did not want to take the time to speak to me. I understand he is busy with patients but he needs to pretend he cares. I will never go back!!
doesn't care about anyone time except his own
Three visits to his office and each time was a minimum 40 minute wait. One visit was to follow up some labs I had done. Turns out they scheduled me to see an assistant who confirmed they received the labs and asked if I wanted to schedule an appointment for the doctor to go over the labs with me. What??? Almost an hour wait only to schedule another appointment. Totally ridiculous. I can't say how decent the doctor is because over three visits I didn't spend more than 10 min with him.
Office staff COULD CARE LESS about my son!! They are rude, they do not want to help and they do not follow up when they are asked to! TERRIBLE!!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
