Dr. Tracy did a reverse shoulder replacement on my shoulder in 2016 . I AM STILL IN PAIN !!!! When I went back in 2016 after surgery I told him it was still not right and the pain was a 8 / 9 . He said it would subside . That was SEVEN years ago . The last time I was in there his bedside manner was terrible ,did not listen to a word I said ! I never went back . So I'm going to have to live in pain the rest of my life with this bad surgery that was done !!! I'm 54 years old , too young to continue with pain . Don't GO TO THIS DOCTOR AND PLEASE DONT BRING YOUR CHILD TO HIM FOR ANY TYPE OF SUGERY.
Fine surgeon. Good skills. Excellent bedside manner. Would highly recommend him.
Dr. Tracy saved my shoulder. I had a complete shoulder reversal, back when he first joined Scranton Orthopedic. I recently learned he is no longer in PA, talk about devastation!!!!! Anyone that has Dr. Tracy as a dr/surgeon is extremely fortunate! Any medical faculty is beyond blessed, he is truly a huge asset! Not only is he a great dr/surgeon, but a kind, compassionate & caring individual!!!!!! He is solely missed!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR! HE HAS ZERO BEDSIDE MANNER! HE DIDN'T EVEN EXAMINE MY ARM. HE ENTERED THE ROOM WHILE I WAS IN SCREAMING PAIN AND PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT HE DOESN'T GIVE PAIN MEDICATION FOR THIS INJURY AND THAT HE SEE'S THESE INJURIES ALL THE TIME AND ITS NOTHING!!! IN FACT HE WENT FURTHER TO SAY WE MIGHT NOT EVEN FIX THE INJURY?? I SAID MY ARM IS DEFORMED. HE SAID SORRY WE DONT DO COSMETIC SURGERY!!?? REALLY? HE WAS ABSOLUTELY NASTY SOMEONE IN EXTREME PAIN SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS. YOU FIRST COMFORT YOUR PATIENT THEN TALK TREATMENT . I IMMEDIATELY LEFT AND WENT TO ST LUKES ! THE ENTIRE STAFF THERE WAS AWESOME!! THEY IMMEDIATELY COMFORTED ME WITH PAIN MEDICATION. THEN SPOKE OF TREATMENT OPTIONS. THANK YOU SAINT LUKES!!!
I ruptured my Triceps tendon and underwent reconstructive surgery on Dec. 2nd by Dr. Tracy. He was very knowledgeable, had a nice bedside manner, and assured me he could complete the surgery without any complications. Ten weeks later and ahead of rehab. schedule, I was allowed to begin light weightlifting and I have full flexion, extension, and strength in my left arm. I would highly recommend Dr. Tracy. He really did a great job.
My first initial visit with Dr. Tracy was most uncomfortable but I understand why as I was in between Geisinger Insurance and Medicare and he was concerned how payment was going to be made. After all insurance issues were rectified it was smooth sailing from there. I have recommended him to several friends of mine. I love him. Should I ever have a need for him again I know he will be there for me.
After a replacement of the radial head in my elbow from a fracture, Dr. Tracey told me my post-op rehab would be to bend my elbow as much as I could. I diligently did so but eventually plateaued no matter how much I pushed through the pain. When I asked about physical therapy he told me "there is not a lot of science behind" it. I don't know how he practices as a surgeon and thinks so little of the whole rehab process following, but I can affirm that my outcomes suffered because of this bias of his. Over a year out of surgery with Dr. Tracey I still cant come close to even touching my shoulder and I have pain with the littlest things like pushing a heavy door or climbing onto a higher bed (I am a 20-year-old athlete, worried this will affect my future career as a physical therapist). Dr. Tracey told me I would be able to do push-ups less than a year after this surgery, but now I am instead seeking another doctor to help me regain baseline function.
Got hurt at work was assigned through my workerman's comp. One of the worse Dr's I have ever dealt with. Told me I was too old for surgery, I'm 52. Tore a muscle in my shoulder. Didn't look at the MRI only the x-rays they took. He decided that it wad tendinitis. No comment about the tear.
I don't understand why and when doctors decided beside manners and common courtesy were too much for their job. Dr. Tracy was extremely dismissive of me, never really asked about my symptoms or even tried to figure out what was going on. He automatically jumped to a conclusion and wouldn't hear anything I had to say. I DO NOT have a pinched nerve in my neck, I have a very serious syndrome called Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I left in tears feeling stupid and very defeated. The SOS doesn't accept

I left in tears feeling stupid and very defeated. The SOS doesn't accept Geisinger insurance is insane too. Now i'm stuck paying a bill for someone who is an arrogant jerk and did nothing at all for me. Do yourself a favor and see one of the other great shoulder ortho's in scranton, like Dr. Colleran.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
