I called to make a new patient appointment and was told they needed to check on my insurance before finalizing an appointment. Called back a few days later and they still had not followed up with my insurance providers to verify. I asked when they would be done with those checks and was not given a timeline. Instead, the receptionist recommended I go to an urgent care in the Foothills since they thought my symptoms were more acute and warranted that type of care. Albeit, I was still seeking to become a new patient since I recently moved to Yuma and needed a new healthcare practitioner and pleaded with the receptionist to help. Instead, she told me she couldn’t help me and that she had a client waiting for her at the desk and had to go. She then deliberately hung up on me. So unprofessional and very discouraging to see how healthcare practices here lack total empathy as well as seemingly not willing to give me an appointment even just for a regular checkup. Would not recommend.

Need to fix the scheduling. If you need the patient to get lab drawn, don't schedule him/her past 2 PM. LabCorp closes at 4 PM. Or tell your patients to get it done first prior to arriving for their appointment. 🤦♂️
