List of Jonathan Chang Md's Reviews
My doctor referred me to Dr. Chang. At the office, there will be the typical medical office frustrations: not the friendliest of atmospheres, sometimes you may feel told what to do by office staff, like a patient they just need to get through with because their day has been long, but the job gets done. Overall, I AM happy with my experience with Dr. Chang. He may not be the warmest person, but I can forgive his social awkwardness, because he always took the time to look me in the eye as he spoke to me, clearly explained what my injury was (even using the model knees in the office to show how the injury occurred), answered every question I had and rly made sure I was on track to a full recovery. He was patient and thoroughly explained the different graft options I had to perform my ACL Reconstruction with, and I asked a LOT of questions. He made me feel empowered to make the most informed choice for my surgery (first one ever) and I felt safe going to hospital on surgery day that I was in good hands. After surgery, during our check ups, he always emphasized what I had to do in order to gain the most strength with my new ACL. I knew EXACTLY what needed to be done to have the best function of my knew knee, and followed his advice to a T. Now it's been two years since surgery, and I am very happy with how I have healed. A lot of frustrations I had during this process (like not being able to see a Physical Therapist for THREE weeks post op), I really can't blame on Dr. Chang or his staff. A lot of the issues I came across were rly bc of America's healthcare system and dealing with private insurance. Like another reviewer, I had issues seeing a PT as soon as I needed to, but I can't blame Dr. Chang. I'm sure doctors themselves are frustrated with the system. Unfortunately, nothing about healthcare is easy, and I did have a long wait for my inital appt with Dr.Chang, but afterwards, my appts were always scheduled well. I do feel I've received great care at the end of the day. :)
Extremely Rude Office Personnel
They told me my appointment was at 11:15 called me back 2min later saying oh its at 11:10. They day before my appointment they call me and tell me my appointment is at 11 and i ask are you sure because I was told other wise. And they confirmed it was at 11. I arrive early around 10:30ish and at 11:20 i tell them my appointment was at 11 they say not its at 11:15 and we go by appointment doesn't matter if your early. And they say im his only patient yet its 11:38 and im still sitting in the waiting room.
I was skeptical to see Dr. Chang after he was assigned to me by my HMO plan because of the reviews I read. However, I was surprised to walk away from his treatment with a positive experience. His staff was always always friendly to me, the wait times were never bad (usually seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time) and Dr. Chang was never rude he actually had a good attitude during my visits. He wasn't over the top friendly which is why some people might complain, but he was straight to the point no bs which I appreciated. Any question I had he answered and took time to give me a medical explanation that was easy to comprehend. I mean he really took his time to go into detail about how my injury occurred, what to expect moving forward and how to deal with it at home to ensure proper healing. Overall I'm happy with the treatment he provided and I would recommend him to others.
Extremely Poor Office Personnel

He is very informative and reasonable. Also, he explains very clearly and understandable. He treats my mom and me very well and he is always have a smile on his face and behaves very friendly too.
Great Doctor.
I saw Dr. Jonathan Chang 5 months ago and I wasn't pleased whatsoever. When I first arrived in his office and boy was it packed with a lot of people I go and check in and the receptionist was flat out rude. I finally get called in by the medical assistant to see the doctor the medical assistant was very nice and showed a lot of compassion. Prior to seeing this doctor I did my research on this doctor and found out he's colleagues with my previous orthopedic doctor and I thought ok how cool. Well Dr. Chang finally comes in the exam room and I inform him about how I did my research on him and how pleased I was that he was colleagues with my previous orthopedic doctor and he just gave me this blank stare and act like he didn't care about what I was going through (it would've been nice had he perhaps called my previous orthopedic doctor and discuss with him about my condition) he also seemed like he wanted to hurry up and finish up with me so that he could see other patients. He has no bed side manner whatsoever. He finally rudely informed me that he would no longer continue to be my doctor. I hope and pray that this doctor will have more compassion for his patients from now on. I felt my appointment was just a waste of time only to be seen all but maybe 10 minutes if that. Thanks for not showing me any compassion Dr. Chang.
Called to try to make an appointment. Receptionist gave me a runaround as to availability, and then proceeded to asking me for my insurance AND policy number before even giving me an availability. I had explained that I wanted to see WHO and WHAT was available first, and it went back and forth with him giving me the run-around.What if I paid cash? Nope. Just seem like a bunch of scammers in my books. Hope these jokers go out of business, as the other reviews do not like.

It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
